Well I was just disageeing with eyecandy that I don't think he calls to say "merry xmas" or anything else without thinking he'll get something else out of it...but eyecandy's just trying to look at it from a perspective that suggests maybe he's actually just a nice guy like that. Possible, but probably not! I don't know anymore...don't care... I talked on the phone last night with a new guy, and we planned a meeting for Sat. evening; we are not considering it a date but a casual meeting. If it goes well then we'll talk about NYE! However, just last night I suddenly got invited to 2 different events going on NYE. One is a party where many of my closest and dearest friends will be; which I know would be a blast, but mostly all couples and pretty much 0 chance of meeting someone new. I also got invited to go with a single girl friend to a club/music NYE party that will probably be FULL of hotties. I don't know what to do! The guy on the phone last night was a very nice man. He's 42 though, no biggie but I prefer younger. But he's a professional photographer and a teacher, knows a lot about history and literature, very talkative. However he came across as being a little too serious for my taste...I'm a person who likes to laugh a lot and be sarcastic, outside of work and school I tend to loosen up and live a little, but he gave me the impression he'd think I'm too wild for him or something! Which I might be...who knows...I can already tell intelligent conversation is great with him, and I saw his very talented photography...but I didn't feel a bigger connection otherwise. We'll see...but thanks Jillybean the whole craigslist thing has been wonderful for me, weather I get a date out of it or not, I have renewed confidence and that's what matters I guess!

The point of it (in my mind) was to show you there are many men out there besides this Dan character, and that it was time to hop off the hamster wheel and explore options. Give the intelligent guy a chance. He may loosen up a bit in person. And if not - at least now you see there are other dating possibilities.
