Trialbyfire Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 To tell you the truth I used fantasize about being in a soap opera when I was a kid HA HA HA The lows aren't worthwhile when I'm left alone at home on a Saturday night going, well I would have a date tonight, except Dan's in invisible mode right now, gee if only he'd warn me in advance so i could line up another date.... I'd love nothing more than to have a date for New Years Eve. But no such luck. Dan's the only single guy I know right now; less I can come up with something over the weekend A New Year's date isn't worth the grief. Visualize the following. It's also a very satisfying visualization. Dan has his foot in the door. No matter how hard you slam the door, he's always got a way back in. Sooner or later you're going to get tired of this drama and take a sledgehammer to his foot. He'll finally pull it back out or at minimum, it won't be of sufficient solidity, that it will keep you from finally slamming that door shut, once and for all.
Author LoveLace Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 Holy Cr*p!! I got on craigslist! I'll let ya know if I come up with anything...think I'm getting a little excited... ....sh*t spoke too soon...when I clicked on "woman seeking men" I got NO ACCESS....bastards!
D-Lish Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Dating the rubber band guy is draining...omg. I have been with someone like that. Come on strong- gets scared, backs away.... goes missing- then comes back and the whole thing starts all over. If you want to play a player- stop letting him dictate, and become less available to him. I have found guys like that aren't worth your time when it comes down to it. So draining.
Jilly Bean Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Write an ad and post here, include an email address (you can quickly create a new hotmail if you like, for privacy sake), and I will post the ad for you.
Author LoveLace Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 Write an ad and post here, include an email address (you can quickly create a new hotmail if you like, for privacy sake), and I will post the ad for you. OMG are you serious!! How sweet of you...uh like what do I say? Try this brc10262008@hotmail. Just made that up....Do I say need a NYE date? Say I'm a fun gal...(cuz I am..really!)...love to laugh and I'm up for just about anything activity-wise...I'm 31 by the way...ha ha what else do you need to know?
Jilly Bean Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I need to know what city you live in. What will happen, is an email will come to your email address from craigslist. You then have to actually PUBLISH the posting on your own. Once that's done, the responses will be flooding in!
Author LoveLace Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 Well ok....long as Shackers don't try to find me ....st louis missouri
Jilly Bean Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 OK, you can delete the city and email info you posted - I have it now. I submitted your ad. When you get the email from craiglist, click on it, and publish the ad. You can also go ahead and edit it at this point (I won't be hurt - lol). Good luck! I'm off to the gym for a few hours, so I'll check back later on your progress.
Author LoveLace Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 OMG will you forever be my P.R. person? You are D*M good with words! All I added was a pic! How exciting...I'll let ya know what happens!!! Your awesome...could kiss you!!! (hopefully I'll get a date and won't have to...ha ha)
Author LoveLace Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 OMG a guy already responded with his phone #!!! This is blowing my mind! (He said I sounded "normal"...good job Jilly )
Jilly Bean Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Yeah - what a crock that I can even relate to "normal" - jk. Have fun with it, but beware - sometimes craigslist can attract the total freakazoids (does anyone still say that? probably not - lol). I think because it's a free posting site. Regardless, go into as you are finding a date for NYE, and probably not a long term relationship. Although one of my gf's found her bf from cl! Go figure... And you're welcome! Hope it works out well!
Author LoveLace Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Holy cow! Got to work this morning and I have 42 new messages.....OMG this'll take a while!
Jilly Bean Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 LOL. Good luck weeding through that, LL...
Ariadne Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Holy cow! Got to work this morning and I have 42 new messages.....OMG this'll take a while! Wow!!! That's great LL! Enjoy.
Author LoveLace Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Jilly they keep saying how and fun and intelligent *you* sound! Thanks your the woman! I've been emailing back and forth with 2 or 3 guys. I only responded to messages that really caught my eye, weather it was their picture or just what they said. Some have NYE plans with no date, others just write because they are interested in general....this is fun as h*!!.....at this rate I'll have 5 dates this weekend! One guy suggested wine/music/dinner, and he's hot!! Sounds like I might be chatting with a couple on the phone tonight.... Dan WHO??
Jilly Bean Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 That's my girl! Exactly! Dan Who is right? See? There is life out there beyond him... I'm glad it's going so well and that I could help in some small way. Yeah to your new year, with a new dude mentality!
Author LoveLace Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Can't believe I never knew about Craigslist before...If I did, I would have been there forever ago!! Tells ya how long its been since I've had internet at home....that's the only thing that's kept me from exploring other dating options! I'm overwhelmed with excitement....I'll let ya know how any phone calls go tonight.
Kamille Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Hurray Jilly Bean. Wait does anyone say hurray anymore? Seriously this is the best possible turn a thread could take. Thanks Jilly and have fun Lovelace. Man I'm so happy for you, it's like it's Christmas all over again. Oh wait, it is! I'm exchanging gifts with my sweetie tonight!
Author LoveLace Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Merry xmas Kam I hope you get just what you wanted! Your right it's the best turn any thread of mine has taken, that's for sure!! Hurray!
Trialbyfire Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Just be careful with cyber guys, LL. It's a pretty easy medium to hide behind. Beyond that, have fun and good luck!
Author LoveLace Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Just be careful with cyber guys, LL. It's a pretty easy medium to hide behind. Beyond that, have fun and good luck! Yea I've done the online dating thing before, it's been a couple years but it was once a regular thing for me. I just make sure to see their pic (which can be false but it still helps) and I never give out phone #, I just take theirs. That way if something weird suddenly comes up about them I don't have to worry about them knowing my #. I always meet in public places too, of course...
Jilly Bean Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 You'll be fine, LL. I am so happy for you! Hopefully this is the beginning of a new dating chapter for you...
Author LoveLace Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 You'll be fine, LL. I am so happy for you! Hopefully this is the beginning of a new dating chapter for you... ...Every new beginning comes from another beginning's end!
EYECANDY000 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Sounds like when he called you at 3 in the morning he was doing so drunk dialing !!! as far as calling you during the day , maybe he was just calling to say Merry Christmas
Author LoveLace Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Could be so eyecandy...but if your just calling someone to say "merry xmas", why couldn't you leave it on their voice mail when they don't answer? Wouldn't occur to you they are probably busy with family on XMAS day? Oh well, maybe not...but I think it's just him trying to get my attention for his ego, really...
