Aw, Indignant, I am so sorry.

I will be going to the park for a 3 mile jog, maybe some activity will help.

Posted

That sounds exciting..

I'm not sure I'll be able to handle in activities at this moment. The bed is my choice for the time being. Thanks for the suggestion.

Whatever I do, there will be alcohol, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and lots of TV...all done alone of course.

Cheers

This is my first Christmas alone, EVER. But amazingly, I am pretty happy. It's weird. Last xmas was the last one I spent with my 9 yr LTR, and he dumped me shortly after. Loads of pathetic threads of mine tell the sad story.

I met a man who seemed like The One in July and it blossomed into Love, then it ended three weeks ago because he became sober while we were together and didn't feel like he could be in a relationship. More pathetic threads were posted here. I have to admit that I do miss him.

Then two weeks ago I decided to get sober. I feel like I'm reclaiming myself. I feel more alive than I have since I was a little kid. And happy that I am finally growing up and moving on with my life. I feel less alone than ever, it's wild after all I've been through this year, but it's true.

Later today I'm hanging out with a bunch of neat great people I've met in AA, and going to a Christmas potluck dinner and a meeting afterwards. Three weeks ago I'd never have believed I'd be happy doing this. I'd have probably been sitting here getting drunk (it still sounds kinda fun, but.... no).

Life is pretty surprising. It's amazing that under the circumstances I am happy, but.... I am.

I'm going to walk the dog in a few minutes.

I will then go to my mom's and hang out with the family. Have great food and play cards. I'm actually happy. I have always enjoyed the holidays so I'm glad that I'm still doing so.

Im at home on my own with a bottle of wine......by choice.

May go out later if I cheer up a bit, already been to see the family.

Seems like everyone is doing something different. Christmas should be about the choices you make for that day and being at peace with them.

Well,

My husband (the love of my life) and I got up really early on xmas morning, had some hot chocolate and freshly baked muffins..

And opened all of the presents with our family. This was one of the best Christmas of my life! I got all the presents I wanted, among them a necklace with the most gorgeous diamond charm that my husband says is a confirmation of his eternal love for me. Everyone was overjoyed with our presents, too!

And then we went skiing up in the mountains in the new powder that fell through the night...

Wow, what great exercise, it was grueling! We got really exhausted but it was beautiful, absolutely beautiful, and peaceful.

Then we got back home and we were welcomed by all of our family members who opened up their arms to receive us. My parents, my brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews...everybody.

We went to see our beautiful newborn baby that was sleeping like an angel in his cradle. He had been sleeping all morning said my mom.

Then we had this feast for lunch. The kitchen, in fact, the whole house smelled great! There was turkey, mashed potatoes, baked yams, stuffing, all the traditional meals, and of course a table of deserts.

After such magnificent lunch prepared with love, we went to our bedroom where we made the most passionate love for two hours. We told each other I love you a million times, and almost passed out with pleasure.

After that, the whole family gathered around the fireplace where we drank Irish Cream, and wine, and brandy or whatever people wanted. I just had some red wine, while I helped my mom bake some gingerbread treats, and cuddled my baby, while the men talked.

Then we all went for a walk around town where we listened to a band that was playing Christmas Carols and the children chorus singing next to the river.

By then it was time to wrap up the day, we all had dinner, said how happy and thankful we all were for such a wonderful family and Christmas, and went to sleep, peacefully, without a worry in the world, smiling...

Ok, I woke up late, had a beer, and sat in the computer to read LS, all alone.

Drank too much last night (alone). Today I'll nurse my hang-over while I play Half-Life® 2: Episode Two & read LS when I need a break from the game.

After a while when my kid comes home from his Dad's he & I will finish opening our gifts for each other. :)

Seemed like everyone drank way to much including me. What the heck, we can use the excuse that Christmas is only one day a year.

I haven't been drinking...eh, but then, that's just a personal preference. I've instead been trying to enjoy my Christmas with my parents and family...and to appreciate the rest I am getting before going back to school.

Yesterday, my parent and I went to my uncle's house for the Christmas celebration. We ate a lot, and around midnight, we opened our presents. Today, we returned back home and went shopping for food in the stores that were open. My parents and I might go shopping tomorrow with the gift cards I received and with the sales that might be going on tomorrow. I might also try to hang out with friends from back home.

So all in all, just trying to make the best out of the situation. :D

Anothergirl, sound as if you had a really, really good family day. Some of us has to stay sober.

Woke up at 5am.. Worked from 7am-3pm.

Arrived back at the house around 3:30 and put the turkey in the oven. It has around 15 minutes left to go before I quickly throw together the rest of what's for dinner. (Candied yams were cooked last night. Stuffing and mashed potatoes are boxed. They'll take no time at all to cook.)

Originally, I had planned on spending the day alone (which I was perfectly fine with) but found out one of my friends wasn't doing anything at all today, so I invited him over to help me eat some of this stuff. I should be picking him up here in a little while.

He has to work later.. So once we're done and I drop him off, I'll come back and pass out from all the food. :p
