spookie Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Like the rest of you losers on here on xmas eve, i too am wasted and alone, so I don't know if this is going to make sense, but earlier today, as I was doing some of my regularly scheduled deep thinking about life and love and all of that, I realized something. You know how we all spend some of our time in our heads and some actively interacting with the world? That is, being introverted and extroverted. Maybe it's just cause I'm a solid introvert, but for me, being extroverted is painful and exhausting, so the time split is about 90 / 10. In order to reconcile my introversion with the fact that I want to have friends, I've learned to operate in social settings whilst living entirely inside my own head. (This accounts for my permanently glazed expression, which people often mistake for stupidity.) Anyway, so I have friends. I can even go so far as to say that I have a lot of really good friends. But there's still a distinction I make between people that are IMPORTANT to me, and those who know a lot about me, are there for me, are fun to be around, but I still don't really give a flying fvkc about (though I go through the *motions* of being a good friend back). I was thinking about why I draw those lines where I do, and I realized that sometimes (very rarely) I stumble across someone whom I can *share* my personal space with. Someone I can interact with, without ever leaving my head. I don't know why it's possible to do this with some people and not others, but in my experience, either you can do it right away or not at all. I think it's called "connection", but that word is thrown around a lot without a proper definition, so I'm not sure. Anyway I think it's the most important thing to have with a partner, or with a friend. And why love's so hard to find.
Storyrider Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 You're just stoned, dude. In the morning, none of what you wrote above will make any sense. I'm kidding. But I do think you're overcomplicating things. It is just with some people you have to pretend and with others you can relax. Eventually as you gain perspective, you just relax all the time and they can go f*ck themselves if they don't like it. Unless you think they might get you a job, and then pretend like crazy.
Nemo Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Like the rest of you losers on here There is hardly anyone alive who ain't lost nothin'. Yeah, shake it up baby now Twist and shout Come on, come on, come, come on baby now Come on and work it on out

Someone I can interact with, without ever leaving my head. Because those statements are at obvious odds with one another, I thought I'd attempt to be more concise. With the former type, it's like being alone inside your head, surrounded by other people inside theirs. (THink bubbles.) With the latter, it's like being with someone else inside your head (two bubbles combining to make another). Although, It is just with some people you have to pretend and with others you can relax. that is simpler (and leaves nothing unsaid). Should I take another shot or have another hit off the four-foot bong I stole from my date of a month ago? Merry fvkcing Christmas everybody!

I once knew a huge bong like that. It's name was "The Klingon". Yes, it belonged to a group of stoner nerds.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river With tangerine trees and marmalade skies Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly A girl with kaleidoscope eyes Cellophane flowers of yellow and green Towering over your head Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes And she's gone

I haven't heard that one yet.
Nemo Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Are you hearing the same songs as me? I haven't heard that one yet. Sorry to be irreverent, but Elton's cover was better.
Storyrider Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Sorry to be irreverent, but Elton's cover was better. I think you're just more sophisticated than me. But did you hear L in the S with D? Or are you quoting it randomly? Right now I'm hearing I Feel Fine? Are you hearing I Feel Fine?
Author spookie Posted December 25, 2007 Author Posted December 25, 2007 Sorry to be irreverent, but Elton's cover was better. I wasn't aware that the Beatles' version was a cover.
Nemo Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 I wasn't aware that the Beatles' version was a cover. You are right, and I was ambiguous (I guess). Elton is the cover, but Lennon and McCartney wrote the book.

Trimmer Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Sorry to be irreverent, but Elton's cover was better. Not just irreverent, but flat out blasphemous... Apology not accepted.
Nemo Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Ah, because the world is round It turns me on Because the world is round
Storyrider Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Ah, because the world is round It turns me on Because the world is round Do you need to go to sleep maybe?
Author spookie Posted December 25, 2007 Author Posted December 25, 2007 It turns me on You turn me on Nemo.
Storyrider Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Ah, because the world is round It turns me on Because the world is round Hey, this just now came on my radio. You must be ahead of me. Maybe they aren't doing the station ID's and the little holiday messages on the feed?
Ms. Red Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Can I have a hit dood? No, RLY. I'm tired of alcohol.
