Hi,

I have a question. Has anyone here ever contacted a psychic before to help them through a tough time? Even more specifically to gain understanding or closure from a break up or to help get themselves on a healing path? If so, please post any experiences or feedback here that you are willing to share.

I am a casual reader at tarot.com. What I mean is that, I find the ideas of astrology, tarot, numerology, etc to be very intriging. I sometimes find relatablitly in readings but try not to put too much faith in them as I am quite unsure of my own beliefs and how these things relate to them.

I had an interesting experience a little while back. It wasn't too long after my break up (perhaps a few weeks to a month after), I had just walked into Target and I stopped at the greeting cards. I thought about my ex a little bit and then suddenly this woman came in behind me and she tapped me on the shoulder and handed me her business card. She was a psychic advisor. She simply mentioned something about a half off reading and then went on her way with her shopping cart.

it's a bunch of crap... I can be a psychic advisor tomorrow if I want.. I just need to learn the 'vocabulary' a little and here I go... they are charlatans that makes big bucks out of people who just hear what they want to hear...

augh. This forum posted before I was finished typing...so here is the rest of my post. Unfortunately it won't let me edit the original either...so sorry for the typos up there.

I found this whole interaction somewhat strange and although I was very interested in seeing what she had to say and why she picked me out of the crowd and handed me her card, I crumbled up the card and threw it away.

Today I was looking at xxxxx.com and i started reading the customer reviews for the psychics at xxxxx.com's supporting site, xxxx.com. I found some of the over the top satisfied customer review to be a bit to much to believe. So I am posting here to see if anyone else has any real experience or insight on these Psychic Advisors.

Even if you have never contacted one before, would you consider it?

It's funny, I read xxxxx.com too. I feel kind of silly about because it is most likely BS, but I tend to be drawn to it, and enjoy reading insights and predictions for the future. I don't make decisions or changes based on the readings, but its just something I find fun, kind of like entertainment. I always wanted to call a psychic advisor, but they're all really expensive so I never have!

I believe there are some genuinely talented intuitives but I don't think you will find them on a commercial phone service. Usually you will find them from word of mouth from your friends to satisfied clients you bump into. It isn't everyday you bump into a truly gifted psychic but I do think they are around.

By the way, I see you coming into a LOT of money in the year 2023.:D

Just a bunch of crap :p

I don't believe in the phone line psychics.. but I absolutely believe in psychics.. clarvoiyents etc.. You have to fine someone possibly in a shop and it might take some research depending on your area but a friend of mine has been doing this for years..it's in her family.. I have had my tarot cards read and gone to a psychic medium.. Sorry but I have it recorded and she mentioned family members she never would have known the first name of or how they died.. it was pretty amazing.

What's interesting is that I went a few months before I began dating my ex.. she said that I would be dating someone I had already dated.. I had no idea who she could be referring to.. turns out it was my current ex. We had dating briefly years ago before we became involved again and had a 3 year relationship. I didn't even remember this until a few months ago...

Not everyone is legit but I believe in it..

My vote?

They are blowing smoke up your hoo-hah.

Good luck with that.

Anyone can tell a vulnerable person what they want to hear. The best psychics only get 1 in 5 things right, it's just when they touch that 1 you want to hear, something emotional, you forget about the misses. And if you have a crowd of 50 people, someone will have a parent who died of cancer/heart attack (pain in my chest) and they are wearing a necklace or ring of that person.

There is a $1 million prize out there for anyone demonstrating psychic ability. I predict that no one will ever win it.

Chances are pretty good that you were not the only one she gave her card to during that shopping trip.

With that said, there is plenty that I do not understand about the non-physical world.

I've had readings where some pretty cool things came out -- information that the medium couldn't possibly have prior knowledge of.

And you pretty much know when you've just been hosed and given a 60-minute tape of generic baloney.

My deal is, if I get some insight out of it...then it was worth the trip. So what if that 'reader' made it up? S/he still managed to make up *exactly* what I needed. And if I get nada, well, they just ain't gonna get any referrals from me. NOW aren't they sorry??? :p

What is it that you would like to know?

Its funny - I'm reading this and there is a brand new set of Tarot cards right next to me that my wife just bought. She's into that - she keeps going on astrology sites too. She was big into Tarot card readings when we first started dating 6 years ago, like she was starting a new life with me and wanted to see how it would go, etc. Now that she is planning to leave and move out on her own, she is back into it. The big problem with these things is that you interpret it the way YOU want to interpret it. So 6 years ago she could get a Tarot reading saying she is entering into a great relationship/new life, whatever and she would interpret it that she is going to have a good life with me, causing her to want to be with me more. Now she could get the same reading and interpret it as she is going to have a good life WITHOUT me, causing her to want to leave me more.

Psychics, astrologist, and Santeria all translate to "A bunch of Crap!".

Might as well throw religious leaders and politicians in the mix as well.

She might be "real" but take it with a grain of salt. The best ones are those that go up to you and say it for real without financial benefit.

I had a few interesting experiences where the advisor would come up to me, hold my hand, say a few words, and then walk away. One said something interesting, "heavy heart but everything will be ok."

hey guys (and gals if it offends you to be called guys), thanks for all your responses. I guess i wasn't really looking for advice on whether to see a psychic or not but just interested in other people's experience and/or views on the topic. It astonished me that some of these psychic advisors had so many positive reviews that I wondered how credible the ratings actually were.

I truly believe that there are people out there with this ability, but it's just impossible for anyone to tell what's real and what's crap so we have to assume that it's all crap. I'm pretty open-minded though but I'm not about to shell out big bucks week after week to check in on every move I make in life. But in a time of unsurpassable uncertainty, a little direction or reassurance probably couldn't hurt if priced right...even if it is "just what I want to hear." Take care everybody!

People who are skeptical or don't believe in psychics don't go, so that demographic doesn't have a review. Most people that go are vulnerable and want to be told something and they will find it. Being open minded, IMO, is different, as open mindedness does involve the scientific method. That's just me.

Also, if someone does have a negative review, that would mean admitting they went to a psychic. Penis enlargement pills have great reviews too. Why? Because people who buy them and realize they were scammed aren't about to admit that they bought them and were scammed.

I believe there is a need in some to return to more mystical times, when nature was unexplainable and not so quantifiable. This could just be something you need to go with.

But don't go with TV or phone advisors, for gawds sake.
