ninjaturtles Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Are you finding it hard to get over the way someone has treated you in the past? Have you been misunderstood, or neglected when you really should have been taken care of and protected? Most people who've been hurt in life could easily convince a jury it should never have happened. And it shouldnt! But it did reliving it wont change it! Think: if you were in a car crash and taken to hospital you wouldn't spend all your time obsessing about the driver who crashed into you, would you? No, your main concern would be recovering as fast as possible! Isn't it weird that with physical wounds we ask for help straight away, but with emotional ones we tend to focus on the problem instead of the solution, we try to hide the problem and sort it out ourselves. When you've been hurt, you can choose to remain a victim by dwelling on how things should have been, or use the experience to grow wiser There will always be people who speak without thinking and hurt others. Listen, you don't have to let your bad experiences of others dominate your thoughts and influence your future relationships and life experiences. Understand this: it takes the same energy to choose healing as it does bitterness but the results are very different! One leaves you paralysed by the past, the other gives you hope for the future. Choose! How do you stop focusing on your hurt? Tell God about it, let it go and He will deal with it Stay strong and hope everyone is improving. xxxx
