schweetpea Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Hi there. This thread is for parents of more than one child. When you were going through your second pregnancy how did you feel? I'm pregnant with child #2 and I don't know...I have this "been there, done that" feeling. I mean, i'm terribly excited and happy, but its so different from the first.
Meaplus3 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Hi there. This thread is for parents of more than one child. When you were going through your second pregnancy how did you feel? I'm pregnant with child #2 and I don't know...I have this "been there, done that" feeling. I mean, i'm terribly excited and happy, but its so different from the first. I can fully understand that as I felt sort of the same way with my second and third pregnancy. I think it's mainly because #1 you have done this before so it's not brand new so to speak. #2 You have child #1 to look after which can be very trying at times while expecting another and can take away from the enjoyment of a new arrival. Try to relax and enjoy day of the pregnancy. Take the time to let your first child become involved with the new baby on the way. Congrat's and best of luck to you with your new little bundle. AP:)

Hey there this is my second also!! I am pregnant with #2 well 3rd pregnancy but second child. I miscarried a yr ago November 16th at 10wks but the baby stopped growing at 8wks. So for me I couldn't be happier . I am so sick like I was with daughter. All the joys of pregnancy you could have. I can't wait till July with I am holding this little one in my arms. I am 9wks 3 days. Went for my u/s on November 27th ,and baby looked really good . Heartbeat was 160 ,we can't wait to find out what we are having in a few months. I guess when you lose a baby makes you realise just how precious and such miracles babies actually are!! We are so excited and hubby is so sweet and kisses my belly all the time. If you want to chat you can PM me anytime. How far along are you? When is your due date?

I lost one at 9wks in march&it was awful. I am 20 weeks now and am due April 22. I just found out its a boy!!! I'm so excited. I have a 4yr old son and he is thrilled to be getting a brother. How old is your daughter?
JamesM Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Personally, I have not been pregnant, but I can relate my wife's feelings. Her first pregnancy was full of doubts and worries. Her second was much easier and more relaxing. So yes, for her, the second pregnancy was much better. She knew what was going to happen, and she knew what sorts of pain she would/could endure. Congratulations! Since we have a house full of four boys, I can understand what you will have ahead of you. While they certainly are not quiet, they can be a lot of fun.

She has a big brother from my h's previous relationship . Thank God he didn't marry her. My step son doesn't like my daughter . So this will be new to her and be able to be a big sissy!! She was devestated when we lost the baby last November and keeps kissing my belly and saying "Are you sick today? Sickness is so intense at this stage and can't wait for it to leave!! Congrats on another baby boy . I kinda think this is a girl again but I could be wrong. Don't really care as long as it is healthy . So what you naming it ?

He use to hurt her and say he didn't do anything. She would have marks and bruises and my h WOULD BE FURIOUS!! I think cause he was the only one for so long he felt she was raining on his parade . He has to be the center of attention always. He quit his football team this yr because they were losing .He said it was a embarrassment. After he done that they actually made it to the play offs and lost the first game. boy was he mad he didn't stay. He moved out cause he didn't want to go by our rules. I love him but being pregnant I don't want to deal with his drama anymore . Too stressful !!!

Sorry it wasn't handled a little more properly and maybe it could have been stopped or worked out better.

We involved him in it .He was there in the birth and he always helped me with her. He always liked to be the center of attention and never wanted anyone in the way. He even tried to cause problems between me ane h before. Luckily his mom is dealing with all that now. He is causing problems between her and her bf and is seeing how he can really be. He wants no authority or rules . Wants to be free !! His bio mom always thought we was too hard on him .Now she is seeing what we dealt with and why he was grounded alot. She has no control over him and he basically runs all over her. Here he couldn't and that is why he chose to be with her. He been with us since he was two . He is almost 18 !

Poor kid, now he is causing problems for his mom and her b/f too? Sounds like he felt was just a big problem all the way around. I hope he finds some solace in his life and finds love within, so he can feel loved from others too.

Yes, most kids who were there first so to speak, might have a hard time adjusting once a new baby comes into the picture. Guess maybe he never got out of that attention mode he was in. Anyway, kids who crave attention don't just do it to be doing it, and don't do it to really be selfish, they do it as a cry out for something. I think either parents try to embrace the child to find out whats going on or they don't,and when they don't, the kid can become more of a problem. Its really easy though for parents to put things off on kids, and kids to put things off on parents. And as long as its being put off on each other, things will probably remain the same. Hopefully your daughter will adjust well to your new addition and wont act like your ss has.
