So just background, my bf and I have been togetehr for 16 months, he gets weird when we talk about marriage/children. So I took Allina's advice and directly asked him why he is doing that. He said that marriage scares him a little because he's only had one other serious relationship where they talked about marriage all the time and she cheated on him and broke his heart. He also said "well how am I going to surprise you if I'm talking about engagement and marriage all the time?" He said that he thinks that it should be a really huge surprise and that it's more romantic and special that way. So I told him that I agree with that, however I don't want to be confused all the time and think that i'm wasting my time. So he said "ok, I'm going to tell you this right now. In this relationship, you are not wasting your time." So, I feel better about the whole situation, and he said he would try to keep the confusion to a minimum. He said that he loves me, and thats he's not going anywhere. And that was it. So I feel SOOOOOOOOOOO much better now. It felt good to talk to him about it, and I feel much better knowing. Any suggestions or comments would be appeciated!
melodymatters Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I don't think you need any suggestions, and my only comment is : Good for you, sounds like you found yourself a good one ! I think this guy is going to " surprise you" within a relatively decent time frame too ! So glad things are working out for you !
