I'm wondering if my hormones are out of whack, like REALLY out of whack during the days leading up to my period.
No, you're just a normal woman. :)

Anyway, part of this is just a rant, but part of me wonders if men really understand the consequences of PMS?
They do in retrospect. It serves as a great excuse for whatever you mess up. I become emotional (read: depressed) and irritable (read: hysterical) two days prior to my period. You cry, but when you get married, you'll start screaming, trust me!

Or do you think we're always crazy?

We're always crazy, but in PMS days we're even crazier. ;)

Just like a man can't be more "in tune" with his emotions. If he tries, he turns into a whiny little pansy who cries too much.

OMG! This is so true!:bunny:

from my experience, i really dont get PMS. sometimes i think its just a excuse for them to be mean to u, but most of the time i try to understand.

I don't think any man can really "get" PMS. The ones who believe in it and are sympathetic by nature can just deal better.

For me, I didn't "believe" in it either until I got off the pill after being on it for three years. Then I noticed the changes cyclically - and how psycho I got once a month. I'm not bitchy either, I just cry a lot and hate myself, somethign the physical symptoms don't help with either. The bloating, the zits: on top of my already fragile mood they're all just too much.

Hey, as long as I get sympathy/empathy from him when I'm at my worst and he brings me chocolate - Then everything is cool! LOL!

I would say for me, I understand that it can be a real issue for some women. My wife is one of them. She suffers pretty bad from PMS. I feel kind of bad for her actually. It makes me glad I'm not a woman. :p Although, I have noticed there are times when she is PMSing, and cranky, that I seem to get that way too. Not sure if its just a reaction to her, or if men can get the symptoms too, so to speak.

Sorry to hear that Jack...I do feel lucky because I don't get horrible cramps or can say I feel "miserable" during PMS....yes for some women it's a real struggle and even meds don't work...

I have in fact heard that men can have a "time of month" when they experience mood swings more than usual or something like that. I don't know if it's hormone related, or just human. But men are also affected by their wives' pregnancies, it's a true occurrence in which they might experience some of the same discomforts or cravings as her, for real. "Sympathy pain" I think it's called....maybe PMS can do the same...
