I will make this short. My friend of 26 yrs wrote me a letter thru her daugher (she was unable to type it herself) she wrote to tell me to hug my child tight daily as your not promised another day.

She lost her father May 7th this year. Only to come back home to find a discomfort in her rectum. It was a 12mm cancer mass. She underwent chemo, only to be allergic to it. It burned all her inside organs, and her body is turning against her. She is 38 with three kids youngest 3yrs old (Noah) after 13 yrs trying for him. Lost her hair with scarring from chemo reaction that will not grow back. They also just told her she has to have sugery for organs shutting down Nov 30th with a 33% chance that she will survive!

Also they are taking muscle mass from under right breast down to stomach to try to make a vaginal wall and that was also burned and has to be replaced. She will never have sex again! God willing if she makes it thru surgery. She will have all of her colon removed with a colostomy bag to replace it. She put in her recent letter to me, hey you are getting a divorce not dying from cancer. Snap out of it, damn your alive! Now, make the rest of life count for you! Love again, enjoy each day- that's it kid! (she is 6 mos older) ha

Whatever our problems are -they are all serious I know. But after hearing something like this. Mine are minor and a drop in a bucket compared to hers. I am flying to be there for the surgery to support her. She writes me and I received another letter today. She says she can't wait to be there for me! For me!!! Will you all say a prayer for me that I can be strong for her and to forget my own problems and focus on her! Please?

I am very spiritual not too religious anymore. But I am moved beyond anything, for her to worried about me. I have always felt lucky to be her friend for all these years but this one takes the cake. Ok I hear you God, your testing me, right???

Her name is Stacie, if you can, take a minute and say a prayer for her now and on Fri am Nov 30th. I fly to Orlando FL Nov 28th to be by her side.

We are all very lucky to have each other to get us thru these hard times. I consider you all my friends. I thank you all for any help you have given me. I hope I have helped you as well.

Thanks for your thoughts and any prayers. I really appreciate it.

yes, a-b, you and Stacie and her family are in my prayers, though I have to admit I'm amazed at the strength of her love for you in that she's trying to comfort you through all this – she sounds very much a blessing in your life, and I'm glad you've got that kind of love in your life.

I think you'll maybe draw strength from her love and friendship, and you'll respond instinctively to her and her family's need ... if you feel comfortable doing so, pray for God's guidance to serve your friend in the way she needs most, and he'll help.

meanwhile, hugs to you and to her, I think she's got a lovely friend in you!

I'm so sorry, I haven't followed your thread I don't spend a lot of time on LS, but I just read your post about your friend Stacie and both you and Stacie will be in my prayers! Good luck to you I hope that you have a safe trip, and I hope that you are exactly what Stacie needs right now, and she for you.

It's sad to read this and yes, some problems are nothing compared to what people out there are actually going through such as kids in Africa, India and those with medical problems. So much that they have to go through and they are the ones who are always stronger than us!

You both will be in my prayers!! You both lucky to have one another!

Thank you for all the warm wishes and prayers. I just talked to her and wow she is amazing. I cannot wait to get there and just put my arms around her. I will keep you updated.

I just wanted to let everyone know whatever we are going thru someone else out there is going thru a lot more. Sometimes we loose sight of that.

thanks again.

Well, thanks for your support. Stacie made it thru surgery. She is in a lot of pain! Hard to watch. But she is alive and getting thru hour by hour. They think they have all the cancer and she will have to endure chemo and radiation for another year. But I wanted to say thanks. :)

My mother came down with me and she is in the same hospital with Stacie, not in the same room. Hopefully she will get discharged by the time our flight leaves wed am.

Thanks again for the support, it meant a lot to me and her.
