Why do men sometimes act like little boys?

Well, okay then. I guess that my expectations are too high. What I was really upset about was his silent pouting, not that he wasn't there when I needed him. I still think that he should learn how to speak his mind, not silently pout.

Then you may need another bf. People who are open and upfront about things are very different from people who hold them in and sulk.

And you might also want to consider a AAA membership.

Well, after sleeping on it I realize that when my bf told me that he has gotten much better in this regard, I have to admit, he has. He is trying to be more upfront, but apparently it is challenging for him as he has admitted that I am the first person to ever call him on it (his previous gf's have been spineless jellyfish). So, I will give him a break.

As for AAA, would that have really helped me in these situations? Given that both times I was in the country?

Regarding the voicemail.. Let me add my two cents worth.

Not every guy will realize that when a woman vents to them that he isn't being blamed for it. Just saying "I'm sad that you aren't available" doesn't automatically say that he isn't at fault for not being there for you and that he should recognize that the rest of what was said wasn't directed at him.

And yeah, sometimes it will take some of us longer to process what is bothering us.. Simply talking about it doesn't help because the reason isn't always clear.
