So ive heard about "listen to your gut" and all that....but i think my head and my gut have a similar voice because I cannot for the life of me know which is which.

How do you know which is your gut and which is your head? Sometimes i feel my gut is telling me something and then I think more on it and I feel i may be rationalizing things. THen other times I feel my gut is telling me something but then if i look on it harder I feel like its actually me overanalyzing...

How can you tell which is which??? Is there a special feeling that the 'gut feeling" has as opposed to your crazy mind??

It's an uneasiness that won't go away no matter how many times or how hard you try to rationalize it.

On the positive side, it's a sense of calm or confidence in the face of indications to the contrary.

That's how it works for me.

It can be hard to sort out, but over time and experience, you can recognize it. Look back on past situations and consider your thoughts as compared to the outcome. Did you have an uneasy sense of something not being right in a relationship and you ultimately broke up and found out there was something wrong? Did you feel certain you were going to get a job or a promotion, even though there were better candidates and then you did get the job? Think back to what those indications of unease or confidence were and try to look for that.

It's a little like this :

Your gut will tell you when it's time to poop... Your head will tell you can hold it for another 30 minutes.

Applied to relationships :

Your gut will tell you a man/woman is full of it... and your head will tell you he/she is awesome...

Follow your gut and never either of your heads...
