Woggle, here's a thought for you and others: go experiment with different approaches. Ten women you pay, ten women you don't, ten you split, ten you make pay, etc. And see what happens.

Obviously, the advice from many women on these boards is flawed. Why obviously? My attitude gets responses like "good luck with women." I've had a fair bit (50+) and that's without much effort (see my post on "why don't I like girls anymore") and with turning girls down fairly often. I bet I could've had twice my number with any kind of ambition.

So obviously they're wrong, and if they're wrong on me, they can be wrong on you, so just do your thing and don't ask random women you don't know for gospel-from-Mt.-Sinai.

If I had a dollar (I'm American) for every time I heard this from a woman online or even in person. Wtf. So many girls, and how come none of them take ME shopping for a motorcycle (or truck or convertible)?

I see women on all advice forums berate men who don't want to spend money on women just because they are women. I think if we are spending our money, you better act like a woman. [Here Tryalbyfire says, well, I ALWAYS act like a woman, I do such-and-such-and-such]. Come on!

Come to a date dressed like a woman - sexy and classy. Act like one, too - with respect, and make the man look good in public. And when you come home, be sexy and show us you can do more than tastelessly grind and spread them.

And then, lo and behold, you'll find all manner of stuff brought to you. Otherwise, why bother?

The guy invited HER out for coffee - Starbucks, no less. If he's so damn concerned about a few bucks, he could have had his coffee at Denny's or anywhere else coffee doesn't cost as much. He invited her. He pays. If she had invited HIM, then SHE should pay. That shouldn't be hard to understand, even for someone like you.

They're "wrong on you" because you epitomize "wrong."

You don't like girls any more eh? So now you're the catcher or the pitcher? Which is it?

I'm starting to wonder if this isn't more about a numbers game. The more women you date, the more you'll have to shell out. Why not be more selective in future and target the ones that meet more of your own criteria?

Women almost never ask men out, especially younger, more attractive women. So that's stupid reasoning.

Um, no, that's not stupid reasoning. We're in the year 2007, or hadn't you noticed? Catch up now, okay?

Perhaps a read of men are from mars women are from venus would be a good idea.

Plus being a bit more open minded about dating and just enjoying the fun of going out and meeting new people instead of worrying about the odd dollar here and there. I don't, why cause I am out most of the time I have fun, so what have I lost? £10, £20 - well I had a night out I had some fun times - no different to spending that amount when I am out with my buddies.

Oooh, see, now THAT is proper reasoning. The date was fun, pay an amount that's for "a fun evening" not "an investment" and the issue is resolved. And the poster who said welcome to 2007, -- sweetheart, most women, likely you included, have NO courage to come up to a man in front of everyone and risk rejection.

Sorry, you're wrong. Why? Because I have "come up to a man in front of everyone." Risk rejection? WTF are we, in high school? Grow a pair like I have... :lmao: ...and you may understand.

Actually, SB, I think you've been around too many over tanned bleached blondes w/nothing but air between their ears. Broaden your horizons and you'll be surprised at all the wonderful women in this world.

Hun someone is just totally anti women at this time, leave em be. x

You're right BHKS. And the "blonde" thing wasn't meant for you or anyone like you. You obviously have much more than air between your ears, baby!

While the general knee jerk reaction from women is to get pissed off at this statement, there is some truth in it. I've read many a post on LS where a woman has openly admitted to not wanting to go up to a guy first, not wanting to call first, he should "be a real man and have the balls to approach", etc, etc, etc..

Maybe the reason is fear of rejection or maybe it's because some women feel that if they initiate things the relationship won't last or maybe it's some other reason. But it certainly can't be denied that women approach men with far less frequency than men approach women. If a woman decides she's never going to approach a man, she'll still have dating opportunities. If a man decides he's never going to approach a woman, he's going to be quite lonely.

Why would most women get pissed off at that statement? I agree with it and everything that you said about it. I'm one of the women who won't approach first, call first or any of that stuff. I just don't want to and I don't have to.

Just goes to show you there's no accounting for taste. How many of those "girls" stuck around after she got to know you?

There are different women looking for different things from dating. There are different men looking for different things from dating. If you play the numbers game, something tells me it's not an LTR you're looking for. More the dine and dash variety of guy.

The more people you date the higher your probability of finding the one who is right for you.

I used to date a lot before I got married and will have to disagree with you. I found it more a waste of time, than anything else. But then, I'm very much a relationship person.

I won't argue with you there at all. I'm a broken leg waiting to happen. :D
