I was wondering how many have been able to survive a SO having a long term affair? I am interested in both sides of the story: the BS and the WS. How long did it take? Any statistics?

Also for WS what did you do to win the love back.

I am looking for inspiration or hope in terms of keeping my life with my daughter complete.

My wife and I are still together nearly 3 years later. I wouldn't say we survived, as that would imply success and I certainly don't think we're a success story yet, but we're still working on it. If we knew then what we know now, it probably wouldn't have happend in the first place, but it did, and it's really a hard thing to get past.

It's a long, tough road, and I don't think there are any shortcuts. I wish I could offer you more.....

I feel like giving up everyday. I persist for now.

You will continue to feel that way for some time to come. I still feel that way a lot. And giving up is a reasonable choice to make, if that's what you decide. You have that right, it doesn't make you a bad person. A lot of people here will tell you that's what you should do, kick the bi~*h to the curb. But when it all shakes out, you have to do what is best for you. And only you can decide that.

I think a lot of us feel guilty if we stay. Like we're making fools of ourselves. We're letting them get away with it and they should be punished. And while that may be true, I say, it is not wrong to try. It is not wrong to attempt to save a family.

But.... Don't let the desire to keep your family together, or love for her, or whatever reasons you have keep you in a situation where she continues to disrespect you. She's in it 100%, for the long haul, just like you, or she gets out.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me...

That's as close to a pep talk as it gets for me. Good luck. :)
