Another What He is Thinking Thread

Let me start by saying this is for a friend - this time, it is not about me although we all seem to be in similar boats (with slight variations), I am not sure what to tell her so I thought I would get an opinion from the guys.

 

She has a friend that is dating someone and on top of it he has recently ended a two year relationship just prior to dating this individual. Initially, it appeared that he was in the transition phase, but he is still with this new girl after about four months. This guy (mid-thirties) is a friend with my friend and has spent many hours hanging out with her (including sharing hotels while traveling) and always calls to discuss sexual topics, personal relationships, etc. He has told her he was interested in her at one point both physically and personally, but has never made a sexual advance (physically, he called and attempted to come over one evening after drinking, but she did not allow it). Even after she expressed her feelings toward him, he continues to remain in contact and discusses the intimate details of his life, even his current relationship woes.

 

She continually asks me what it sounds like to me - I truly do not know any longer, not to mention I have my own relationship to figure out. Initially, I thought he was interested in her, but now, with no advancement in many months, am not sure. Any thoughts would be great and will be conveyed. Thanks.

it's hard to start dating someone you are really close to. the pressure is on to make it work, it's not just bog standard dating. I've been in the situation you described and I think there can be a point when you know someone almost too much to date them. It almost feels like you are breaking some rule or something.

Does she want a guy who will try to sleep with other girls when hes dating her, cause thats what hes trying with her current girlfriend. Why do people never see this.
