running out of time. is he interested? is it worth it?

Is he interested? I'm running out of time and I could use some advice as to if its worth it to pursue. I dont want to ask my friends about this (crazy superstition).

 

I just met him this year, but we I have caught his eye in the year since we've started going to school together. Kind of one of those "i know you've seen me, I've seen you" kind of things.

 

- When off at a school retreat, he swatted me with his sweatshirt playfully.

- would try and link everything back to what we have in common:

ex: we were talking about interests in music- he asked me "you play guitar? I play too. You taught yourself? Me too!" stuff like that.

- he was going to a concert with a mutual friend. He knew I went to a similar show earlier, and kept being like, "well you saw Ratdog (the band), what do you think of Phil Lesh?" He brought this up numerous times.

- I saw him walking across campus, he smiled HUGELY and waved

- Saw him in teh campus restaurant, I stopped and said hi, we talked for like 10 minutes, he was smiling and laughing, very attentive. (I could have just been seeing what I wanted to see, though)

 

- this weekend, i saw him at a concert. Before I could say hi, he left. So i shot him a cute message being like, "I saw you but couldnt say hi. so i'm doing it now!"

He responded right away being like, "you should have stopped me! I'll see you tonight (at another show)?"

 

He seems interested. Its weird that we had that connection before we even formally met. So, guys, I need your help. Does it seem like this is something worth pursuing?

 

I'm really quite shy when it comes to guys i like. I already took a chance with that message, and it seemed to go well. but should i try to take it further?

sooo i made that move. it was well received, i think, he kept being like, "anything good going this weekend? Will I see you?" but, I havent seen him in like 2 weeks besides quick hellos in passing. We just havent been in the same place at the same time... its a big campus.

 

So, tomorrow's the winter formal. I'm not sure if he's gonna go (he's getting over mono), but if he does, is it too forward to ask him to dance/ seek him out? I don't want to come across as desperate/needy/even creepy. What do i do.?

This reply may be a little too late for advice regarding your winter formal, but:

 

It appears from what you've written that you both have plenty in common...

 

He appears interested in you, you're interested in him...

 

Heck - hunt him down and get on the dancefloor! Will he think of you as desperate / needy / creepy? No way! And if you take the initiative in asking him, I bet he'll be smitten!

I'd say wait till hes over the mono. Thats can be pretty rough stuff.

 

Anywho, ya i totally say take it further. Ok if hes at the dance, you could try the girl thing and talk about HOW MUCH you'd love to dance ect ect Or try the i really love to dance angle. He might say he dosnt like to dance, then you could say 'OHHH I'll teach you!'

 

Hopefully he'll get the hint. Anyways goodluck.
