that funny one), is he trying to hint that he wants sex? Or is it more a test to see if you have a sense of humor? It was a really stupid joke (a play on the word infrequently).

I am sorry, but I have to ask, do pray tell, what was the joke?

Also, IMO, to answer your question, I would consider it pretty classless to tell any kind of vulgar joke with someone while on a first date. But that's just me. :bunny:

"Do you realize how booooooring the 20th Century would have been, had it not been for the Germans."

I found the joke on the internet, here it is, more or less:

An elderly couple had been dating for some time and decided it was finally time to marry. Before the wedding, they had a long conversation regarding how their marriage might work. They discussed finances, living arrangements and so on. Finally the old man decided it was time to broach the subject of

their physical relationship.

"How do you feel about sex?" he asked, rather hopefully. "Well, I'd have to say I like it infrequently," she responded.

The old guy paused .... then he asked, "Was that one word or two?"

I thought that was funny. :D

I doubt he was implying he wants sex or using it as a test. And, no offense, but if I was dating a girl who got offended by something like that I'd consider her way too uptight to be any fun.

I didn't know it was that type of joke. It involves old people talking about sex for cryin out loud. That is definitely not offensive. At first, I thought that the joke he told was really graphic or something. There's nothing wrong with that joke. :bunny:

"Did you hear about the new German-Chinest restaurant? The food is great but an hour later, you are hungry for power."

Ok. I did laugh and said "That's really clever."

Good, well everything is fine then.

I think that joke is hilarious. I'm a bit embarassed to admit it took me a split second to get it though! :D

That said, I really, really, really, REALLY don't like it when guys talk about sex in ANY fashion in the first couple of dates. It's a huge turn off for me, joking or not.

As for this particular joke, I do believe it was a type of test to assess your sexual appetite. I still believe it's inappropriate though.

Umm, maybe he was just telling a joke? People do things like this. It's part of interpersonal communication in which people relay tales and anecdotes from their day. I would tell him you would rather he doesn't open his mouth or talk? That would clear up silly "talking to you" issues.

Geez. Can we blow this out of proportion any more?

We had already settled it if you read the whole post and it wasn't really blown out of proportion because we got different viewpoints. I wasn't complaining, just wondering, geez.
