katie82 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 hey guys! so i was with my girlfriends tonight, and they were gushing all night about their relationships- how everything is just so magical and perfect and they are head over heels in love. i really feel like they are putting on a show for each other, trying to compete for who's relationship is #1. i know for a fact that at least one of them was totally exaggerating. when people ask me how my relationship is going, i just feel so awkward and FAKE sounding all gushy about my relationship. i am just not like that. i love my boyfriend and everything is great, but i have a hard time putting it into super flowery, sugary words like they do all the time. everything just seems like girls are trying to put on a show for eachother and i dont buy it. just needed to vent!!

I'm not currently in a relationship, but if I was, I think I'd feel like you do. I have a difficult time talking about really girly things, or talking about guys or anything overly romantic. Adding to your venting, I hate when girls think that being a girlfriend means they can control their guy's life. Girls sometimes freak out if their boyfriend chooses to hang out with their guy friends one night instead of their girlfriend. I say my boyfriend can hang out with whoever he wants to hang out with. Guys need guy time, don't girls understand this? Maybe this just goes along with me being laid-back... but I hear jokes about guys being whipped and that they get in trouble for not agreeing with their girlfriends. I say my boyfriend can disagree with me all he wants. I'm not going to get mad at him for having a differing point of view! Well, my rant went off-topic from yours, but still... do other girls feel like I do? That it's irritating when a girl acts like she OWNS the guy she is dating?
