How do you reconcile the need to turn your back on someone you really love (not married to and just friends) that continues to profoundly hurt you when you feel that they are not mentally stable? I’m sure there is a psychosis with the person but it’s so so so hard to walk away even at the risk of my own mental health. I understand that sometimes the best medicine for a person in need is to leave them be to sort out themselves however I just don’t have that strength to walk as it feels cruel and not being a ‘real’ friend and also I don’t think this person sees how they are and if I truly believed they did then I’d happily run. It just doesn't feel right to walk away and something I'd feel would be totally selfish to do.
