We were talking and she was telling me about this guy at school that was coming on to her. So we got on to the subject of why she's never dated. She said it wasn't only because her old religion didn't allow it, but then she got quiet. I asked her what was wrong and what the reason was, but she said I'm the one person she can never tell. What gives? She's never had trouble telling me anything before! What could it be that I can't know, and why only me? I mean, I know there's no way anybody could figure out from this what the "secret" is, but what would be some reasons why only I'm not allowed to know. She says she's told just about everyone else. She looked shaken and like she was going to cry, so I didn't push it. I'm just worried.

I was just hoping to brainstorm some reasons why I, and only I, would be excluded, and what I could do to help. I'm worried about her, she was really upset.
Racquel Colette Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 It has to be that she only loves you, and doesn't want to date anyone else. Why would she not want to tell you, that can be the only reason. She is in love with you, and only you, and has eyes for no one else. It's really obvious.
oppath Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 There are any number of things that could be the issue. She could have been sexually abused as a kid, for one! People who have never dated often have deep and complex and painful reasons for it. I would recommend saying "you seemed really shaken and emotional in our conversation last week. I want you to know that I care about you, and you can tell me anything." I recommend you say this as a friend.
