ConfusedRachel Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Just a general question. If you first know a guy through work but later start hanging out and he gives you his cell number, does that mean that you really should only be calling his cell for personal stuff? It just occurred to me today that if I'm calling him at work, in a way he has to answer even if he doesn't have to make small talk. Also, if I call him at work there's no practical way to have a longer conversation because of the nature of our jobs. Am I wrong? What do you guys think? Also, he told me to call him for help w/a personal matter. Would you take that to mean call him at home or call him at work to discuss it? (Please note I'm NOT asking the following: "Does he like me?" "How do you feel about workplace relationships?" "How do I ask him out?")
Blue Eyed Brain Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I prefer to contact people via cell phone. It's more direct and you can get them anywhere (within range), rather than voice mail, etc. Would you text him? Always an option...... You could start it out by writing "U there?" then tell him to call you and see if it's on his cell or office line...
latefragment Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 if he asked you to call him regarding a personal matter call him on his cell after work. if you call during work hours he most likely won't be able to talk, and if his boss is in the room it may make him uncomfortable.
Tyra Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 If I was you, I would call his cell phone. I mean, he gave you his cell number, so use it. Because if you call the job, you wouldn't be able talk as long as you would like. But either way, cell or job, you can have conversations with him.
pollywag Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I think you should call his cell from your land line and call his work number at the exact same time from your cell phone, and if you can sneak an email in there too that would eliminate more future confusion once the phone dilemma is solved. Then once you have all three come in at the same time see which one he responds to first, and that's your answer. Maybe fax too he might prefer faxes.... Come my child let's stop with the silly questions and get you thinking. You are obsessing over minor things when you could be calling his cell phone and having a grand time talking to him instead. Why call him at work when you have a cell number to catch him after hours to speak hasle free? He has opened the door for you to contact him outside of work now just walk through that door already. Work # = work Cell # = play get playing already!
Timberlane Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I love getting calls at work on my cell. It gets my mind on better things.
