It seems like a stupid question, and maybe it is -- after all, most lawyers are completely overworked. Having been through law school and in the working world a little bit, I should know.

But I still wonder: what's a good way to get to know some swamped attorneys and become their assistant, where they email/fax me some work, I do it, and send it back with an invoice. My goal is to have a few people so that they total 40 hours a week, so I can work from home.

I sent some letters out today (about 50), some to introductions and some to random single-practitioners. But what do you guys think?

Does your city have a legal newspaper you can advertise in? We have the Law Bulletin, and most lawyers subscribe.

Otherwise, I'd say try the bars near the courthouse after hours...
