Hi, I'm 20 years old, never really had a girlfriend, I like this one girl for four years but she left town for school not knowing how I felt. I was just afraid of the embarrassment of rejection. well that one behind me, I need help with this girl, I'm crazy about her, she beautiful, smart, friendly, really nice, just a perfect girl for me. well theres some problems I dont really know how to go about dating, I told her how I felt, that I liked her and she gave a awwwww thats sweet but im kind of talking to someone. I felt a little rejected, and she still comes over once a awhile. I was a loud funny guy in school, I had to, because I'm fat, and either its talk sh$% or get it done to you. When shes here I act like I did, even though im nervous, so she doesn't think im a phony, but id really like to settle down and enjoy the time with her and get a relationship with her. Shes one of the reasons im going back to school, can anyone give me some advice? Is it all about looks for when girls date guys, does personality not count? what should I do? I do anything for her, any advice on how to get her to like me back more than just a friend or ask her out.

Anytime you pour out your feelings to a girl and their reply starts with something that sounds like 'awww', that's a woman's cute way of vomiting.

Personality counts for alot. It's more forgivable for a guy to be fat than a girl, sadly.

Also you said you were a loud funny guy at school because you had to.

Even if that were true back then, it's utter BS now. So by sticking with that attitude, you were being phony.

Maybe if girls saw the real you, you'd be more attractive. Stop trying to impress and start impressing yourself. That's key to looking attractive to others!

So true, Lunar_Sonata.

I wouldn't try again, AllInKid. You may be nice and funny, the kinda guy some girls want but definitely not her. She wouldn't have gone "aawwww... etc" if she was interested. It's hard to make someone to be interested in you. It's either they do or don't.

You're a nice guy in your early 20s, so you're doomed when it comes to dating by default. At this age, women don't want a respectable man with a good job and his mind on his future, they want the guy who goes to the bars 5 nights a week and burns the candle and both ends. Give it time, I hear talk that they grow up eventually.
