invited to b day party for real or was invited just so she can get free gifts??

ok yesterday i went to my female freind(lisa) b day party. i haven't seen this plantonic friend in approx 3 months. i say shes pretty nice, she set me up with a temp job during the christmas season. we aren;t really close ,but we hang out here and there -not often as she is buys and has a bf of 8 yrs and other friends she knew longer than me-she is popular.

 

my other friend (gordon)who is kind of pessitmic about ppl and is kind of selfish after realizing it for 7 yrs , says this girl only invited me b/c to fill seats, and b/c she wants presents. that is the only reason she invited me ,and that she doesn;t even like me-considering how i said i saw her more as a aquintance before

 

Gordon has never met Lisa. i talk about Lisa and tell him things to Gordon. like how i met her, but we hardly hang out once a 3 months. me and lisa don;t have much in common other than same age, same ethnic background,

 

i just got her a 10 dollar starbucks giftcard. she did mention that she didn;t want any present, and just to see me smile, but hey u can;t go to a b day party with nothing right. but u now some ppl say they expect nothing,but really want something right. "say it ,but don;t mean it" so i got her the giftcard.

Oh ya Gordon the guy that said he set me up with girls, but never did, said he'll get me a job at airport, but never happend. said he had a lot of girls, he knew ,but never set me up.

 

the thing i am asking is how can u tell if u were invited to a birhtday party b/c that friend of urs like u-u are her real friend and likes u , or if htey just invited u to fill seats and just to get more presents. any clues to find out...etc how can u tell. is

It doesn't sound like your friend Lisa was trying to hoard more presents. Fill seats... maybe.

 

It does sound like you need a new friend. That guy is full of negative bullshwat that can in the future (and possibly in the past) be very detrimental to your judgment.

 

This is considering how much he influenced your topic post. I don't know your friend beyond what you said.
