googlezap Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 So I was supposed to have dinner and a movie with a girl ( her idea); however she said that she was meeting up with her friend jane beforehand. So she said we could eat at 7, which was fine. She called me about a 1/2 hr before hand to tell see if we could meet on a different street, and I heard her ask a guy for the cross street. I called her at 6:55, telling her I was almost at our meeting place...and a guy picks up. At first I was confused and checked make sure I called the right person (takes about 1 second) and when I put the phone back to my ear she was talking to me and was like "where are you...okay I'll be there in a second. So she came about 10 minutes late but was very flirty and walked very close to me etc etc. She's not normally the flirty type so I take that as a good sign. I was said, "Haha I was so confused when I picked up b/c there was a guy on the other end and I thought I had the wrong number." She replies "What? What guy, there wasn't a guy. I picked up." When I insisted that there is in fact a guy, she replied "Oh yeah I was hanging out at my friends place, and he let me borrow this sweatshirt since it's so cold out." Thoughts?
spookie Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I would say shady, BUT you've posted similar things entirely over analyzing the interactions between random girls who aren't your girlfriends and the guys they talk to, so I change my answer to "don't stress it as this is all in your head".

Yeah, what she said. I don't believe this girl meant "I'm going to see my girlfriend but at no point will I be seeing, visiting, or speaking with any guys!"
compassion42 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I don't know-it sounds pretty strange to me-especially that she tried to cover up the fact that the guy answered the phone. Maybe this is just her....flighty and unfocussed or whatever but I would definately be wondering what's going on too.

I have a guy friend who's femal friend picks up his phone all the time as a practical joke. But the fact that she was covering it up, and saying that she was visiting a girl just made me wonder... And what kind of guy picks up girls' phones?
sweetie7 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I guess it could be seen as shady, but it's not like you guys are in a relationship or anything. So if she is trying to hide that she was hanging outw with a guy it might be because she actually likes you and doesn't want you to think she's off with other guys. Not that it makes it right to lie, but maybe that's her justification.
