Jerry and I and another friend of ours met for dinner, and the subject rolled around to Halloween night and Mary. It seems I was right - Mary did slip off Jerry's pedestal with all the texting at the table, and even further later that night after I had left them alone at the bar. It seems she spent a lot of time looking around the room to see who else was there and talking to everyone that came up to the bar where they were sitting. Jerry got the impression she was more interested in checking out the next best thing, rather than in talking to the person she was there with - him. I love her dearly, but I've been out with her many times and I know what he means... His comment was she has the potential to be pretty cool, but she's a little too self-involved, and he has a pretty low tolerance for that. Anyway, he's no longer so interested in her, although he has no issues with her in terms of meeting up again in a group setting or whatever. So no one's feelings got hurt, and it all ended up for the best.

The three of us stayed a while longer, and it seemed like Mary was enjoying Jerry's company. He wasn't overtly hitting on her, but was definitely doing some flirting and asking lots of questions about her. The thing is, she kept getting texts from some other guy... So no one's feelings got hurt, and it all ended up for the best. Maybe you should introduce him to your friend, Shari. Or is she still going out with Barry?
