Crazy drunk guy

Sorry y'all, first off, cause this is probablyy the wrong section for this. I can't find a better one on here though.

 

Ok, so there's this guy I've worked with for a while, and a few months ago we got mad at each other and stopped speaking to each other. We'd been pretty good friends until that point.

 

Then we started being polite to each other again, and we had a staff dinner coming up. The guy asked the whole staff to come over to his house for drinks first, and asked me to come too. Well, he drank more than he realized I think, and was drunk before he even got to the restaurant.

 

I had to drive him and another guy over. I didn't realize that I was driving until they were banging on the windows for me to let them in. I hadn't clean out my car, and there was a pair of hose in the back. The guy picked them up and started holding them up, looking through them and grinning, and didn't stop until I yelled at him to put them down.

 

When we got there he drank even more. After a while he put his hand on my knee under the table and grinned like he won the Super Bowl! I was mad and wanted to smack him, but I was afraid of what he might due since he was just that drunk. Later he looked at me really serious and said "eat that damn potato" because that was the only thing left on my plate. I was so fed up at that point I just picked it up and put it on his plate.

 

The next morning he didn't remember what had happened but he thanked me for taking him home with a silly grin. Someone else took him home.

 

What should I do? Let it go? Hit him over the head with a stapler? Do you think he likes me or something? If so,

Like you said, you've been pretty good friends in the past, so I'm sure he likes you at least that much. But, that being said, this guy got absolutely blotto and acted like an ass during a staff dinner. He obviously has no self control in that regard - is this what you're looking for in a boyfriend?

Well, he swears the problem is that he was drinking hard liquor at first, and that he only goes "crazy" when he does that. So he says that that night was his last night drinking it. I'll believe it when I see it since he has other alcoholics in the family.

 

I don't think I'd be willing to get serious quickly because of that. It makes me nervous, and I don't want to get attached until I'm pretty sure things like that wouldn't happen.

 

Sooo . . . do you think that he likes me? If he does, that sure doesn't mean I'm hopping into a relationship--or bed--with him. I'm kind of curious at this point.
