My boyfriend and I were watching Britney's infamous VMA performance a few weeks and he made a remark indicating she was too chubby. This got me curious about his personal preference. I asked him what kind of physique he likes on women and he said a bit sheepishly that he likes "skinny girls" as if it was politically incorrect to say that. It was a relief to me, though, because my last boyfriend thought I was too thin (but he turned out to be gay anyway).

This model has what I'd consider an ideal figure -- the perfect compromise between thin and curvy:

For me.. this is not a 'sexy' body... it is a 'model' body.. it is way tooo longitiligne... too straight.. no curves... too skinny...

I would put a little more meat at the top and bottom... LOL

I agree, she looks like a rake with a couple of oranges.

I like an athletic, fit, toned, curvy body.

Short is out. Nothing less than 5ft 7".

I am 6ft 4".

I don't want a mut and jeff look alike;)

Ah so even guys with bodies like that don't expect women to be really thin, this fills me with even more hope for the future.

Although from everyones comments and honesty on here about curves n such I now feel that I am "normal" and a great catch just the boost I needed as was feeling a bit low about myself.

Thanks all, you have done wonders for me, and to the other girls that worry - well you have also been commented on how lovely you are and look, so lets drink to that :D

Yes, yes, yes, you do carry it well! :D You look good in a bikini, too.

Thanks, It's always nice to hear.

Oh gawd no, but its just when there are more than one it can be diff to take when you still are working on getting up there (hope that makes sense).

Yes you are totally right, I just have been single for too long, before my latest ex of 7months I was single for 4yrs apart from brief fling and you also do start to question why!!! ;)

I need and want to move to the good old USA I think...;)

it's pretty obvious that 'myspace' is the more popular social networking site around here so i created one for myself. this is pretty exciting, i would say. anyway, i'm asian but i don't exactly have a small frame. the metric system over here in singapore is different from the one in most western countries. my physical attributes are as such: 1.65m and 58kg (the last time i did a weigh). i normally shop at zara, massimo and the gap. and i wear a size 6-8 (american) which i suppose is pretty ok. but i always wish i could lose a few pounds, not cos i'm not comfortable and pleased but i just think it'd make me look better.

i'm not sure of the reason for this post, but i just want to show you guys my haphazardly created myspace, for which i'll probably lose the account password in a couple of days time, being a 'friendster' person, like most singaporeans! ps, singapore is not china!

:lmao: That's funny! I'm from Malaysia and people keep asking if Singapore is China. Totally cracks me up all the time!

Yup, it's the same for me. Asian siez, I would be a small but recently I medium size fits me better. I would say a size 6. I don't have any problem with my body, curves... I love it. My friend is obsessed with being thin - super thin! She actually freaked out when she put on one kg more!!

The thing is and my main point is that if people are natually slim then thats cool and they should be happy with there bodies, they can wear almost anything.

however people making references to people with curves as being chubby, is well exactly as the media do to celebs and such like and just adds to the pressure not naturally thin people feel to lose weight and go to such extreme lengths to do so which is not healthy or right.

Because of these pressure we feel we need to stop eating, do Atkins, do WW, do Slimming World, take speed, buy this slimming tablet that slimming tablet because everywhere we turn there is a new diet, some celeb that certainly is not chubby, fat but being called these names......what messages does this send out to us out here in normal world.

Ok I need to get off my soapbox now, but it is annoying I have battled with what "I think" I should look like to fit in with what "society/media" finds acceptable point they stop calling celebs names on the front of papers, magazines, etc.

Just does my head in and just when I think right I am happy I see Britany Spears (for example) being called fat & chubby. Gees if that is fat and chubby at a UK size 10 or 12 then I am doomed.

I know some you should ignore but when you are constantly surrounded by it, its very hard too. Very hard indeed.

I know what point you're making. I don't disagree. Take a look at me, I may be chubby for some men but do I care? No. I'm happy with myself. It's how confident and happy you are about yourself. It's just that I am surrounded by men that prefer slim women and they have no problem with my weight (like I said, if they did I don't care) but after reading some of these posts, it's good to know that there are men out there that love women with curves.

Where I am from, the pressure isn't so bad but more and more slimming clinics coming up. It shows that people are getting obsessed with their figures more and more in years to come. I find it healthier to work out at the gym. It gives me the energy I need, keeps me in shape and I feel good about myself. I do it for me and not anyone else.

yes I agree, I did become obessed at one stage in my younger years, trying every diet fad or pill I could. Now I am alot happier I just wish for my future children and for others that suffer that the media would just let up on it.

I have never tried pills - too scared to try them for fear of the side effects (if any). Well, at the same time... I don't think I need to diet!

I love to eat.. I eat a lot but gym keeps in me shape. I don't trust slimming pills, body wraps or diets even.

I think all this focus on your body type may cause you to overlook what men are really interested in! Yes, your hot! No questions there.

But if you live up to your screenname, thats so much more attractive!

A big heart and kind soul... a woman who really loves and accepts me. That will make you the most beautiful woman in the world in my eyes!

I do accept guys if they are kind and respectful to me and how I am in return and are willing to sometimes comprimise. But as a whole I am too nice, and probably should thoughen up so don't get stomped over.
