Try talking to her about things that you know you have in common, like school, work or where you first met.

Yeah that's been my problem, talking about things I'm interested in. So just wanted to confirm my problem.

;)

Because I have noticed from numerous conversations with women, they are not interested in topics that have nothing to do with trying to get with her like

Weather, Sports, Internet, Food, and TV shows

you talk about things you both are interested in. find out that first and then start talking about it.

DA..

I'm a woodworking nut...I have tools everywhere.. heck I even have tools to fix my tools..

I'm in the Advertising field and also love to spend tons of time at my cabin in the mountains..

When I was getting to know someone on the phone level I almost never talked about those type of things I just mentioned..

I did instead talk about or ask her about her day..

Her upbringing..My upbringing.. those type of things..

It can be amazing how much two people have in common when they talk about their childhood.. We all have those..

I also talk about my family...and asked about their families and siblings..

Those are the things you ask to get to know someone..

The weather isn't a thing in common..

The weather or sports do not tell the other person who you are..

You have to learn to talk about the real DA.. The guy inside and not the guy outside..

I know, I havent been doing that. That's why Girls havebeen hanging up on me, and coming up with ways to get off the phone. So I don't want that to coninue and have to strengthen my phone communication.

Ask her more personal stuff, like where she grew up as a kid, share your own fun stories from when you were younger...

You just need to blend the news/sports stuff into more personal conversations.

"Are you a hockey fan? My favourite team is <insert team>, what's yours?" Stuff like that.

DA, you're trying too hard and having so much control on what to talk about shouldn't be this hard. Relax abit!

Once again I agree 100%. I'm the Detroit Lions of Telephone Communication

All of those things are fine to talk about in a first conversation, provided that you have something interesting to say about them and they help me to get to know you better:

1.TV Shows: I've been obsessed with HGTV lately, especially those house hunting shows because I'm looking to buy a condo. I've looked at places in x, y, z neighborhoods. What's your neighborhood like?

2.Food: My favorite place for Thai food when I lived in San Francisco was this little restaurant on Haight St. The tourists rarely ever went in there because it was on the second floor of the building, with a narrow, non-descript little doorway on the street. I like out of the way places - what about you?

3.Weather: It's been getting chilly lately, which is making me dream about taking a tropical vacation, like to Cozumel. Where do you dream of going on vacation?

4.Sports: Yeah, how about those [Red Sox]. I've never been a huge sports fan. I'm actually the kind of fan that everybody makes fun of: I like to jump on the bandwagon when the [city] teams are winning. What about you? Do you follow any sports?

So, yeah, just about any topic can be interesting, if it's not just filler when you don't know what to talk about.

What kinds of things do you think should be talked about? Have you noticed what you do that makes women hang up on you/want to get off the phone?
