DA, I do hope you're targeting women with a similar BMI as you. Otherwise, you have no cause for complaint...

I didn't even think about that. I wonder if he holds himself to the same standards as he does women.

Online Dating,

Never use the word-"TEDDYBEAR" in your username because You will not get any replies-lol. Take from me, I know because I actually had to take TEDDYBEAR out in order for women to respond to me. It's a shame that things are like that for chunky men but nothing we can do but GET AROUND IT

I LOVE TEDDY BEAR LIKE MEN!

Why does your ad name need to refer to your weight? Aren't you more than weight?

And fat men are much more acceptable than fat women.

OP, why are you referring to yourself as a stuffed animal?

Why are you trying to make fat look cute? It's diabetes-in-the-makings. It's a waxy substance going up you aortic valve until it chokes you lifeless. It's decreased lung capacity that causes wheezing, gasping and sleep apnea, that results in you having to sleep with a machine on your face.

It's not a cute, cuddly little bear.

Maybe those who read your ad don't like the term because they don't like the fact that you're trying to disguise something serious (that you should be dealing with) as something "cute".

To me it says that this person is never going to do anything to improve their health because they think it's "cute" to be overweight.

I'd MUCH rather read a profile of a guy who says he's a little overweight but is working on it than a guy who tries to disguiese his excess fat as "cute as a bear".

I suppose though that there IS one analogy to make between the two.....

Bears look really cute...but if you try to pet them....they'll tear your face off. In a way, it's sort of like fat. At first it might look kind of dimply and cute, but a few wrong moves and it'll kill ya........

Why don't you just be honest and name your profile "Big Round Guy"? "Teddy Bear" is not fooling anyone. At least not me, Teddy.

Just kidding... ha ha.

Wow! Maybe some of you know something about the guy who posted this that I don't know....but it sure sounds like it is getting really kind cruel in this thread-especially with the post about the post maker trying to make fat sound cute. That post just seems a little harsh to me.

I know nothing about him. I was actually just being a smartass, but now I can see how what I posted would be considered mean. I apologize for that.

Haha...back atcha'.

DA, you can continue to pick everyone you come in contact with, apart, or you can try to see what causes you to do this. Keep in mind that you're the constant, in every situation.

There is more to a guy than his weight. Personally, I dont really mind as long as he treats me right. If anything...more for me to grope. ;)

Names and taglines do effect how people read you, I mean all we have to go on with online dating is user name, tag line, pic, and a profile. Some men can be really honest others not.

I have to say for me those that come accross as being cocky about themselves don't really get a second look, but those who seem genuine do.

Would the name Teddybear bother me, not nearly as much as names such as Worldsgreatestlover, Mosthandsomeman ever, Iamgreat69, aloneagain, singleandunloved, sexyface, etc etc

Also the ones that state what they will not take in a relationship/from a girl because it is clear they are still hurt and upset from a break up. ;)

Teddybear perhaps with your name on the end or different user name with a tag line of something like Kind, caring person wanting to be someones new teddybear might work better. Who knows. It's a jungle out there though, one I am also in.
