dedo Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I believe in fate. I believe that we are meant to meet people in our lives for a reason. But how do you know whether you and someone else are meant to be together...if you are not together with them at this moment. I read that peoples lives become synchronized and that allows us to meet them at that time and place. Also, things happen to break us apart and our lives will become synchronized again to get us back together. I'm just wondering how do I know if its over....or whether we will get back togther again.
Timberlane Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Oh, I believe in fate too. See, I met this really attractive woman by chance about four weeks ago. No work on my part, just was there doing my thing with my friends. She got interested in me and started asking around about me. Next time I run into her, she is looking even better to me. I start thinking about inquiring about her. Next thing I know she comes up to me and later gives me her number. We call, talk, lay the cards on the table and set a date. We have an excellent date full of all of the things you could ever want. I then run into her a third time by chance out and about doing stuff with a friend. By now we are pretty taken with each other, but complications keep things from working out. A tail dragging paramour reenters the scene and snuffs out our potential, blossoming attraction. We still try to just hang out as friends. Now, that too seems to have evaporated. No returned calls. Nothing. So it feels like I have an ice pick stuck in my sternum most of the day. Aint Fate great? Pfffft. Fate is balogna. No Fate but what we Make. Now I have to get all of this sticky, rotten fate off of me. You want to believe in that? You wanna invest in that? Faggitaboutit.
Tony T Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Don't get too optimistic. There's nothing to prove that meeting certain people is anything more than chance...pure being at a time and place to make it happen. And you can do that over and over and over. Everything in life happens randomly and I don't think it should be any other way.
FormerNiceGuy Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Forget about fate. Create your own. Create your own destiny. If you sit in your room hoping for that special someone, you will never find him/her. But if you get out there and take action, you will create your own destiny. *** Fate. Create your own destiny. Don't leave it to chances to get what you deserve.
peace_pipe Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I believe in fate. The only thing for sure in this life is this: 1) You will pay taxes. 2) You will die. Fate? I'm much too scientific for that.
Yosef Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Well, it can be determined by how life is treating you at the time whether you believe in fate or not. It's a misconception as well as a factuality. Fate isn't set in stone. You can be fated to meet a girl, but you can change that fate and break apart from her. You can be fated to be alone, but you can change that fate by involving yourself in group activities and making friends. fate: something that unavoidably befalls a person. It IS unavoidable, but it can still be changed. Fate can keep a broken bone unhealed. It can keep a broken relationship damaged. You need to change that fate to the one that brings you closer with the other. Everything that has happened is fate, everything that is happening is fate, but everything that has yet to happen is a changing fate, based on what is happening in your present.

peace_pipe Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Everything that has happened is fate, everything that is happening is fate, but everything that has yet to happen is a changing fate, based on what is happening in your present. Everything happens is a direct result of someone's behavior. Last time I checked, we still have control over our behavior. The girl I banged last week was "fate". It certainly wasn't because we were drunk or she wanted laid. No, it was FATE!!
Author dedo Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 Fate can keep a broken bone unhealed. It can keep a broken relationship damaged. You need to change that fate to the one that brings you closer with the other Yes, and I think this is why we are not getting back togther. I am trying to hard and I am not allowing fate to happen. How do I change the fate....to bring me closer to him?
peace_pipe Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 How do I change the fate....to bring me closer to him? 1) base your decisions on reality 2) put down the story of prince charming and refer to step 1.
Ali4134 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Believe in fate, but be open to the idea that sometimes you hyave to push fate along a little.
peace_pipe Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Believe in fate, but be open to the idea that sometimes you hyave to push fate along a little. ROFL!!! Push fate along? I thought fate was something that you can't control. Geesh, you "fate" people contradict yourselves.
LaughMachine Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I believe in fate. Not " perfect " fate but believing in fate renders you purpose in life. And since this is a meaningful life, fate exists. Sometimes our fate doesn't include much of a compatable partner but a strong sense of loving ones self and being content with just that. Love can be explained in so many other ways than just romanticly and I think thats what this life is for. Is seeing that all love counts, even from our companion animails:) Sometimes we are meant for certain people at certain moments but sometimes those moments don't last forever..
peace_pipe Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I believe in fate. Not " perfect " fate but believing in fate renders you purpose in life. And since this is a meaningful life, fate exists. Quite a scientific observation.:laugh::laugh:
LaughMachine Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Believe in fate, but be open to the idea that sometimes you hyave to push fate along a little. I think what the person means is, that fate can only get you certain places as long as you are willing to go there. The meaning of fate can't be meant as a perfect fairytale..

The meaning of fate can't be meant as a perfect fairytale.. Thank you. And actually I believe in making your own fate, but I also don't believe in stomping all over someone else's beliefs. If someone belives in fate, then I'm gonna give them th best advice I can with their beliefs in mind.

If someone belives in fate, then I'm gonna give them th best advice I can with their beliefs in mind. I am not trying to "stomp" on anyone's beliefs. Remember my disbelief in "fate" is a belief unto itself. I believe that the concept of fate is silly. It's a comfort word, something that people tell themselves to make them feel better.
I Luv the Chariot OH Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I believe in fate. Not " perfect " fate but believing in fate renders you purpose in life. And since this is a meaningful life, fate exists. See, your "logic" here fails. Are you honestly that self-centred to think your life is actually meaningful? I can't believe this conversation is being had at all. To the people who believe in fate, please, go educate yourselves. Just because I want to believe in the magical green fairy who makes me feel good about my sad life doesn't mean she actually exists.

I can't believe this conversation is being had at all. To the people who believe in fate, please, go educate yourselves. Just because I want to believe in the magical green fairy who makes me feel good about my sad life doesn't mean she actually exists. It's not quite the same as ome fairy or something. You can't prove it doesn't exist and they can't prove it does. Just like religion. I was just trying to nice about it is all. And PP I didn't mean to say that you were stomping on their beliefs. But when someone asks for help and you tell them what they believe is silly and made up it just doesn't help anything at all. Yes your disbelief is a belief also, but I never said you were wrong. Just that maybe we shouldn't be so quick to tell anyone they are wrong about something when they are the one asking for help. They didn't ask for a debate about fate, just some advice. Start a new thread to debate with me if you want. I would love to hear your side of things. You seem to debate well.

There's nothing saying its not out there. You're right. This conversation is pointless, lol.
