I'm new to this site and forum so this may have already been discussed to death but I just have so many questions about a "thing" that is going on with a man in a committed relationship. He has only been in this relationship for 18 mos and we haven't even been in this "thing" for that long either - but I have been analyzing it over and over in my head I just thought it would help to talk to people.

One of my biggest questions: is the saying - "once a cheater always a cheater" true 100% of the time? and if a man cheats does that usually mean that something is missing in his current relationship? or does he just do it because it feels good? or both?

I really like this guy and the physical attraction is insane. I just got out of a relationship with a guy who made me not enjoy sex at all - then when I met this other man at work who has a girlfreind and all of a sudden my drive came rushing back.

Part of me feels absolutly terrible for doing something that could ultimatly blow up in my face and hurt a girl I don't even know, but the other part of me really wants to explore the possibilities with this guy, and is slightly turned on from "breaking the rules."

I don't even know what I'm looking for, just opinions mostly.

If a man cheats, it doesn't mean anything for sure except that he's a liar, a cheater, and willing to betray someone's trust to suit himself. It's a reflection on his character more than a reflection on his relationship.

Since he's not married, if there were something "missing" in the relationship, there is nothing keeping him with his girlfriend, except that he chooses to be with her.

So, my guess is the possibilities that you are exploring with him are primarily sexual. He'd leave her if he didn't want to be in a relationship with her and wanted an actual relationship with you.

Now, whether you would want him if he left her is another question. If you were is gf, he's shown you that he's perfectly capable of exploring with someone else behind the gf's back. Wouldn't you always wonder about that?

If it blows up in your face, his gf isn't the only one who will be hurt - since you really like him, you will be hurt as well.
