Scrivdog Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Sex is what you want. Making love is what you say you want.
Trialbyfire Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Germans should stick to cars and beer. It doesn't get any more romantic than this: Explain one thing. Why is a man asking that question, over and over again?
tanbark813 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Explain one thing. Why is a man asking that question, over and over again? Gays are people too, TBF. Tsk, tsk.
Trialbyfire Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Gays are people too, TBF. Tsk, tsk. Oh...forgive me...I thought he wanted a woman to analyze him.
tanbark813 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Oh...forgive me...I thought he wanted a woman to analyze him. He just wants to be loved (in the butt).
underpants Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Oh Tanny, You are so naughty. (you and someone else ) That video has put me in the 'hall of shame' of worst songs ever. I am a proud title owner and I owe it all to LS. LS and Jesus. Mad props. I don't want to have sex or make love to any specifc song. It really is a feeling and interaction/connection with someone else ...and circumstaces. Now just to make things on an even keel of disturbing... Space Hawt...

underpants Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Since we're being romantic and all... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC0IAyUnCfA Oh no, OB, you are too young to be so jaded. I had to turn away at the sight of cockroaches. (gay porn, fine, roaches and strange things...aaaaaghhh). Just me. I am tempted to break out a strange and unusual song. Maybe not though. I will sleep on it.

That video struck a cord with me and I don't know why. Perhaps raw sex is succumbing to our more base instincts whereas making love is an attempt to run away from our creatureliness and play gentle and nice. Who knows.

No, actually we both posted the same song with different videos. I thought that funny. It is a very raw and sexual song. However, roaches are ...icky ...as are monkeys on crosses (I have recently discovered). Here is a just a fun song, for going out. http://www.rathergood.com/gaybar/ Turn it up really loud.

And I agree, some of the images are quite disturbing. But there's something to be said about that video... Not sure what that would be.
MrsHellnoFire Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Either way, it would be sex, not making love... so is love age-restricted?
Trialbyfire Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 so is love age-restricted? How many eleven year-olds are emotionally/mentally and even physically capable of having a mature sexual relationship, regardless if it were making love or having sex?
shadowofman Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I know all of you are going to think I'm the crazy one, but I don't believe there is such a "thing" as making love. It's all sex. There is sex with someone you love. And there is sex with someone that you don't. There is sweet, gentle sex. And there is rough, balls-to-the-wall sex. It's like you all invented something that you don't know what it even is. Or at least there is no concensis as to what it is. Even if there really is a difference, most of you don't act that way. Some of you claimed that sex is just a selfish biological action like masterbation. So why do you care if your SO has "sex" with someone else? Wouldn't you just be angry if they "made love" to someone else? No! You treat them exactly the same. Lizzie60 is the closest, except she still makes a distinction.
MrsHellnoFire Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 How many eleven year-olds are emotionally/mentally and even physically capable of having a mature sexual relationship, regardless if it were making love or having sex? well im sure it's happened. i dont know how many people were really emotionally or mentally ready for their first love, but that doesn't mean they didnt have one.

Bobby NoBrains Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Plain sex is when the emotions take the back seat, when the joining is more physical and almost unemotional. Making love is when the emotions are out front and the joining of the two people is as much emotional as it is physical. By emotions I mean the mature emotions of love and desire experienced by mature people, not the effervescent "love" experienced by younger people, for whom every crush is love. Just my two bits .. Bobby
shadowofman Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I love how adults like to put there brain chemicals on a higher level than children's chemicals. I hope you all realize that you make the same love juice that you did when you were younger. You just couldn't handle it as well.
tanbark813 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Now just to make things on an even keel of disturbing... Space Hawt... That was so awesome.
Mustang Sally Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I'm simple-minded. To me, sex is carnal. Animalistic. Visceral. Making Love is emotional. Sensual. Cerebral. Of course, the two are not always mutually exclusive.
Trialbyfire Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 well im sure it's happened. i dont know how many people were really emotionally or mentally ready for their first love, but that doesn't mean they didnt have one. Could you provide some evidence of this happening? Of an emotionally/mentally/physically capable eleven year-old couple, who make love, not have sex? First love is a misnomer for many people. It's confused with first lust or first romantic fantasy.
stevessvt Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Sex is a physical act Making Love is having sex, but with an intense passion.

Seems like in your initial discussion you are arguing semantics, not philosphical, psychological nor biological distinctions. Unless I'm misunderstanding and you ARE asserting that sex with someone you love is/feels no different than with an insignificant. are you? The bold, part on the other hand is a very interesting point. I agree, that sex w/o love is not just meaningless physicality. But i like your point for a new thread actually.
Storyrider Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Making love is the abstract emotion made physical. It is an outpouring of love through touch, and the deepest kind of touch humanly possible. At its climax, it is literally the penetrating of the other person or the consuming of the other person. Sex is fuelled by lust.
Author Mr. Romantic Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 Sex is the selfish act of receiving satisfaction. Making Love is the charitable act of giving satisfaction. Making love: Incredible, whether it's hot/carnal, or slow/gentle/sensuous pleasure. All emotional receptors open. Sex: Palls, no sharing of emotions. Sex means your are operating on a purely physical level. Making love implies that you are somehow engaged on an emotional level as well... Sex is a mechanical act -- Making love involves the heart, and is a physical expression of one's love for another human being. Sex is the amazing act of receiving AND giving satisfaction. Making love is the amazing act of receiving AND giving satisfaction AND love. Plain sex is when the emotions take the back seat, when the joining is more physical and almost unemotional. Making love is when the emotions are out front and the joining of the two people is as much emotional as it is physical. I'm sensing a pattern here. This seems to be the consensus. Agreed? Although.... W says people can make love without sex... as in thinking of her and buying her flowers, surprising her with a romantic getaway for the two of you, calling her at work to tell her how beautiful she is... Thoughts? People are in relationships for themselves, not the other person. I almost hate to admit it, but this seems to be the most profound statement I've read in quite a while. I could start a whole thread on this. Bravo RR.
