kittenhead Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 what do you think of these sites where people solicit sexual encounters? what if you wondered if your spouse accessed these sites before you were married...i guess who cars...but more specifically what if he had a profile up? its the past so who cares, right? but why do they exist in the first place. these things scare me.

In order to see anyone on any of those sites you need to register and put up a profile. Also it is kind of a pain to cancel your profile, that is why I have yet to get a pay membership. Just having a profile up doesn't mean anything happened. Although sometimes I wish it did But just him having a profile up and being interested at a point in his life when you were not together, I don't think should be considered a deal breaker. PS. I am talking about adult friend finder type sites.

Think about it this way, what if in your life everything was a mess, you couldn't find anyone to care. You were alone and stuck in a dead end job. Now here is this wonderful internet. You can be whatever you want and you can aquire skills that make people admire and care about you in the cyber world. Why do you think games like WOW and EVE are so popular. Makes people feel good about themselves. I for one though like life in it's entirety, real and cyber.

Well from personal experience, my girlfriend just broke up with me because i put up a posting on one of them, which i thought wasnt a deal breaker either. At least for me it was never about finding any random person to have encounters with, i have always had a low-self esteem and having other people find me attractive or sexy made me feel good about myself. I know its strange, my girlfriend was not that good at complimenting me so one time i go to one of those sites she finds out and breaks up with me and because i lied about it because i was embarrassed and scared and she felt she couldnt trust me anymore. I have learned a valuable lesson in just being happy with what you have and staying away from them. They do more harm than good

There are 'dating sites' that are in fact Sites for solicitation for sex.. there are sites for married people who want to stray.. there are sites for swingers... etc.. etc... I don't see the big deal.. if you're not into any of those sites... you just stay away.. simple.
