If a girl you had a few dates with a year ago emailed you, but you are pretty sure you didn't give her your email address, where would you assume she got the email address from? Do you think you would stop to think about whether you had given it to her? If so, would you find it creepy that she found your email address even though you hadn't given it to her? (the person's name is not listed when you do an email search, so it can't be assumed it was found with a search like that.)

As you might have guessed, the address was obtained through a third party who knows the person also, but I don't want the recipient to know that!

Why is this for guys only?

And are you happy she emailed you?

I guess I just wanted to see how guys thought about this but it doesn't really just have to be for guys.

Are you asking me if the guy is happy that i'm emailing him? i'm not sure. I don't know how it will be received but i don't want his suspicion to taint his feelings.

What are you going to say in your email?

You don't have that much to lose if you haven't seen him in a year and you want to get back in touch... but be warned that a lot of guys will interpret this as very needy. Like you are far more into him than you should be given a couple of days a year ago.

Why did you stop going out with him?

thanks, Spooky, I'm sure you're right, it does look very needy, but I can't get him out of my head so I want to do something. I stopped seeing him for a specific reason that i'd rather not get into right now; it's a long story, but the issue is resolved now for the most part and I'd like to start again with him. But since it looks so needy, i don't want him to think i was stalking him somehow in trying to get his email address!!!!

It's fairly easy finding anyone these days with search engines and the like. Even company phone directories are available online. I called up a girl I saw two years ago and then moved away. I met and started hanging out with a mutual acquaintance, so I reasoned that was enough to call. No response, but what the hey, I gave it a go.

Timber, I know what you're saying but I tried so many search engines and I could not find his address. I was doing this so if he asked me how i found it i could at least say i found it on such and such search engine. So if he asked me, what would I say? I got it on a search engine, i don't remember which one...I suppose he doesnt have to know that he's not listed in any of them....i just hate him to think i did all that research for him!
