Heidi2 Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 I have an open forum question to whomever reads this: how do you distinguish the difference between a 'friend' and a step or two above, such as a 'boyfriend?' I know this question is quite self explanatory.... but do to the fact that I'm trying to decifier these to words, I was hoping someone could clarify their meanings?
yes Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 i'd say that the easiest way to tell them apart is by presence of mutual physical attraction, which is being acted upon, or is at least shown & known. -yes
clia Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 Well, boyfriends do the following: -- call you -- take you out on dates -- introduce you to their parents and families -- buy you flowers -- pay when you go out -- kiss you, hug you, sleep with you, etc. -- Tell you they love you -- Ask you to marry them -- Talk about your future together -- Buy you OJ when you are sick -- Etc... Friends, on the other hand do exactly the same types of things that your girlfriends do. Your main differences are the dates and the intimacy.
the_panda Posted May 8, 2003 Posted May 8, 2003 a boyfriend will offer you more of a feeling of being wanted more than anyone else, by a single person. like, a friend, has many other friends, and possibly a girlfriend who he is going to care for more than anyone else..... or at least act like he does. it's all a feeling of how important you are in their ranks of people. i hope that clarifies it a bit. well, at least, that's my interpretation of the meanings... but yah. see ya.
