Crestfallen_KH Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Hello, all - I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. My husband and I separated in September, and he moved in with his affair partner. I last saw him on Oct 6 to exchange a couple of boxes. Since then, we haven't spoken, e-mailed or seen one another. I'd like to keep it that way. I don't want to see him ever again, frankly, but we still have to get divorced. We are both keeping things amicable, and have already divided everything. We have no kids and no house. Right now, my plan is just continue NC and wait until he breaks it to start talking about getting the divorce paperwork filled out. My plan is to say "go for it, let me know when you have it all together" since I think he should be paying all the fees for this since he wants the divorce, is cheating on me and has two incomes to pull from. I'll then hire an attorney to review the paperwork, just to make sure that it's fair and meets our original agreement. Does this seem rational? I certainly don't expect anyone to know legally if this is a good idea (I have a friend who is a family law attorney and I'm going to run this by her), but I'm thinking this might be the best way to avoid contact with him but not shoot myself in the foot in the settlement. Thanks, Crestfallen
