mysteryman Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 So I met this girl about 6 weeks ago and we seemed to hit it off. We see each other everyday (same college) and hang out a lot during the days/ study at nite. There for sure seems to be something between us, and she has dropped all sorts of hints that she's interested (ie, the unneccessary touching, i always catch her staring into my eyes, etc..). It's actually gotten to the point where friends are all asking us both if we're dating or what. Here's the deal, she actually has a boyfriends from her hometown, which is somewhat far away. However, when someone asked her if she had a boyfriend, she answered "yes, but we don't have a lot in common". Now, we had not hung out alone away from school (ie, no real date), but today I asked her if she wanted to go check out a movie tonite, and she said yes. Then i get this text message with a brutal (worst i've ever heard actually) excuse telling me she can't make it tonite. So now i'm a little pissed but more so confused. Here's what I'm thinking: either a)she feels to guilty about the fact that she still has a boyfriend (who she will eventually break up with whether i ever date her or not) or; b)is not interested (maybe i came on too strong or something?) Sucks, because things were going very smoothly until this. I'm going to treat the situation as if option b) is the reason and back off, and if she's interested let her make the next move Opinions?
norajane Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 It could be either a or b, or some combination of both. But, yes, treat it as though it were option b, back off and don't worry about it. There are lots of other girls in college!
Pentula77 Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Confucious say...girls with high interest show up !
Ponzoli Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 "Then i get this text message with a brutal (worst i've ever heard actually) excuse telling me she can't make it tonite. So now i'm a little pissed but more so confused." I am sorry, but I have to ask (since you brought it up) what was this "Brutal excuse" that she used? Come on man, pray do tell! You can't just tease us like that and then not share! Also, I agree with the other posters, just forget about her as a potential gf.
gfto Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 She's not interested in you. If she was, she would've shown up for the movie. Don't waste anymore time with her. As another poster said......lots and lots of girls in college.
Ponzoli Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Just as an aside (sorry I meant to add this in my initial post) it has happened to all of us bro, don't sweat it. Just to commiserate, I was stood up by a chick named Nicole Chambers when we were supposed to meet at Starbucks. She left me a voice mail and e-mailed me saying she got lost coming back from picking up a package at the UPS depot. The only problem was the UPS depot closed like 3 hours before she allegedly went to pick up the package...just thought I would let you know that you are not alone
