lookinforanswers1 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 So my ex-girlfriend of 2 years broke up with me about 2 months ago, I was really heartbroken at first but i did things to take my mind off everything like go to the gym and took up tennis and i felt that I was pretty much over things. I went on a few dates but they were pretty uninteresting. But I just recently met someone that I've been talking to a lot and have a lot in common with. I have a second date planned for this weekend. But for some reason this past week I have been thinking about my ex a lot. I don't want to be unfair to this new girl by showing a lot of interest (which.. I am interested) but in the back of my head still thinking about my ex. Should I continue dating this new girl and just expect my feelings for my ex to fade away or do I need more time to jump back in the dating world.
Crestfallen_KH Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 A breakup is very hard, particularly if you have some history (and two years is pretty long). If you are having doubts (and still have feelings for your ex), then I would say it's probably too soon but only you will be able to really call this one.

Women mourn and wait, guys tend to replace rather quickly. That said you may want to take the time to figure out what went wrong with your previous relationship and to figure out what you want from your next partner / relationship. Also how serious is the dating??? If you're making the moves on this girl because you think you will fill the gap with a new gf you could be rushing it a bit, but if you simply want to go out and enjoy some activities etc with female companionship... What the heck.. why not... no rule says you have to sit at home alone and feel sorry for yourself and you might just make a new friend... Good Luck... I've been there and done that...
