skeletonindacloset Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Hello all, I began seeing a young lady a few months ago and we've been getting along famously. It's tough sometimes because we both have incredibly hectic schedules and rarely get to see each other but when we are together it's all good. The main issue that I'm facing right now is that when we're intimate I think of someone I was seeing a few years ago. When she's not around I don't think about her. Instead my focus is on thinking about this other woman I loved so many years ago. Like I said, we get along well, have a bunch of things in common, and just genuinely enjoy each others company but I can't get this old love out of my brain. I understand that sometimes our hearts will never forget but we can learn to move on. I don't feel like I'm moving on though. The past two relationships I've been in have all been this way. Kiss one woman but think about another. I feel like a real S.O.B. for feeling this way and would greatly like to move on with my life but she never leaves my mind. I can't imagine it going over well if I say to the woman I'm currently seeing "I like you and want to keep seeing you, but I don't think about you when I kiss you or when we're intimate." I just don't foresee a good outcome if I approach the situation with complete honesty. The woman that has been consuming my brain for so long now is currently married with a child and our mutual friends have been working very hard over the past few years at making it so we are not around each other as it's a very small city that we all live in. When we were seeing each other she had been in a relationship for 5 years with the man she's married to now. We stay away because if we don't then we go back to our old cheatin ways. We're on a hair trigger when we're both in a room and so we've been kept away from each other by friends and family. So what the hell can I do to get this woman out of my head so I can attempt a successful relationship with the woman I'm currently seeing?
