confused_days Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 This is kinda embarrassing to post considering this whole issue has lasted like a year. Well, theres this girl i like and since halfway through last yaer, she has been giving me signs that she likes me as well. But we both hardly talk to each other, it is more like a mutual crush?? Anyway, we don't talk a lot, but we do have a lot of chemistry whenever we see each other, like a typical high school crush? So..she regularly shows the following signs that she likes me: -Glances / looks at me all the time -Either i sit next to her, or she sits next to me, but we seem to remain stiff and don't talk. -When we occasionally get close, and maintain eye contact for like a good 10 seconds, theres just this huge chemistry thing going on, and at those moments, it's like a definite connection. Where we both give our biggest smiles yet we dont seem to talk. -During group conversations, she seems to look at me the most even though she is talking to other people. Okay, well, at this stage, you'd be going "omg, how can u be such an idiot and not make a move, its obvious she likes you!!" Well, thats sometimes not the case. Sometimes, especially after a lot of chemistry has happened. Usually a day after... she just starts ignoring me, (as in, no longer glances, does not even look at me)... this whole episode of ignoring will go on for a few days before she starts getting back to normal. So, what is she trying to do?? I want to ask her out for the year 10 formal, but its just so weird when she keeps confusing me on whether she likes me or not. Also, is it good to just ask her to the formal, even though we hardly talk??? ps. i am a shy guy around girls. She is not shy around guys, but i feel that she is shy around me.
Phateless Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Dude, you just have to make some kind of a move. If she's into you, then you've wasted AN ENTIRE YEAR because you're a chicken... If she's not into you, you get to STOP WASTING TIME on this girl who's not worth it. either way, you win. Not trying to be harsh or a dick, but I spent the better part of my life in your situation, and what I realized is that you just have to sack up and do something.

Then I do the ignoring for a few days just to see if he is interested or if I horribly misread him/because I'm shy and don't want to look like an idiot/or simply because I am fustrated that he HASN'T asked me out so I figure I must be imaginging it all. So, it sounds like you both are shy. Someone's gotta break the ice! Why don't you talk about the dance and see if she has a date?

Because men are such complicated creatures to read ignore = like Call me insane but as a guy with even just an ounce of pride if I'm ignored by a girl, I'm ignoring right back. I tend to read ignore = bitchy but maybe I'm just slow or something.

However, everytime i try to do so, i back off and shy away halfway through... what can i do to help stop this from happening? Because everytime i see an opportunity pass by, i regret it afterwards.
