Chesleyfan Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 So the girl that I'm interested in and I see each other a lot in person (we've both grad students in the same department) and when we're not talking in person we usually talk over AIM. Very rarely do we engage in conversation over the phone, largely because the cell phone reception in her apartment complex in sketchy at best (that may sound like a line, but I've been there myself and it is terrible, my phone cuts out a lot). I've read other threads here that suggest that guys who prefer texts or IMs over phoning it in appear lazy to a woman, and not that terribly interested. I would prefer the phone, but obviously it's not the best option at this point. My question is, would it be worth anything to simply call and leave a message occasionally, even if she may not receive it until after the next time we talk in person/AIM? Does the thought count, or would it just appear rather pointless?
birdie Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 that's a good question but maybe you could just tell her on IM when you are chatting anyway that you wish reception wasn't so bad at her place because you could talk more often. that should reassure her enough I think
Timberlane Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Right. See if you can call her when she isn't home and the reception is better. A nice phone call from someone you want to talk to is much more flattering than a nice IM or e-mail, but you use the tools you have. You could IM "I wud call, but ur phon sux."
