Thanks everyone. I refused his offer to spend the night. Things got quite confusing. We'll see where things go from here.

Don't feel like expanding on this?

Don't feel like expanding on this?

I was too tired to do it last night. It was just one of those silly conversation where it felt like he wasn't telling me exactly what he wanted and I was tring to be as clear as I could.

Last night, when I hung up the phone I was like: ugh, this guy is confusing. But this morning I think he was maybe just trying to leave me some space - trying to be the opposite of pushy.

I'll see in time what it means. I'm glad I declined the invitation. I feel much more grounded then if I had jumped in at full speed.

Good for you Kamille. It's too easy to get caught up in things.

Ambiguity leaves the door open for misunderstandings and allows insecurities to fester. If you're going to have a discussion about where things stand, be clear, otherwise don't bother, y'know?

I find that I still have a hard time expressing myself clearly.

But guess who just called to ask me out to dinner tonight? I think my analysis of last night's conversation was right. He knows I want to take things slow and he therefore doesn't really know how to strike the balance between showing interest and giving me my space. And therefore sometimes he gets confusing and sounds too casual.

Not easy being in a Frenchman in North America, I tell you.

Sounds like another fun night. Relax and enjoy it. :)
