Capricorn Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I was just wondering if men ever really get jealous of other men looks? A lot of women get jealous or feel threatened by thinner/prettier women, does this happen to men? I know most women get jealous if their man drools over other women. It seems guys don't even care if their wives/girlfriends ogle other men! Maybe guys just hide their jealous feelings better then women?
Krytie TV Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Yes, they do. It tends to come out in the form of spite and dislike.
Author Capricorn Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Yeah that makes sense. My man will call other guys losers or homos and it always happens to be guys I know or may have something in common with.
Woggle Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Some men do but I don't concern myself with what others are doing. My life is good and that is my concern.
Lyssa Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I was just wondering if men ever really get jealous of other men looks? I don't think they do, not my bros anyway. A lot of women get jealous or feel threatened by thinner/prettier women, does this happen to men? Honestly, I don't feel threatened or jealous by thinner/prettier/hotter women. I love looking at them! I know one guy friend of mine, he was rather threatened by some good looking men. I know most women get jealous if their man drools over other women. It seems guys don't even care if their wives/girlfriends ogle other men! Maybe guys just hide their jealous feelings better then women? If my man drools, then I'd be jealous but he doesn't drool. Guys - yes, they SEEM like they don't but they do and usually let it out by being sarcastic.
Author Capricorn Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 I don't have a problem with pretty women either, many of my friends are beautiful but I trust them around my man because they're respectable women. The women I have a problem with are the ho bags that will flirt with a man that is obviously in a relationship. I also have a lot of guy friends I grew up around also friends of my brother and talking to them it just seems like they don't really get jealous. It actually seems like men want their wives girlfriends to do shady stuff, flirt with other men, look at naked guys to give them an excuse to flirt with other women or watch porn everyday!!
Woggle Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 . It actually seems like men want their wives girlfriends to do shady stuff, flirt with other men, look at naked guys to give them an excuse to flirt with other women or watch porn everyday!! Who told you this? I don't want my wife to flirt with other men but I accept she will look as long as she does not touch.

The kind that looks at your man while you're out shopping and stuff?? I hate those kind too. I usually look out for women when I go out. I have girlfriends who wouldn't even let their men look ANY WAY let alone ANYONE!! I think that's just crazy.
shadowofman Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Who told you this? I don't want my wife to flirt with other men but I accept she will look as long as she does not touch. I'm one of many. I don't get jealous about anything physical. I would feel neglected if got in the way of my own physical relationship, but having a promiscuous wife is a hugh turn on for me, and I'm not alone. I would admittedly get a bit jealous if my wife started an emotional relationship, but again, only if it took away from the time that we have together. I also wouldn't want to hear about "how great he was. how romantic, blah, blah" That would be like me describing the dirty details about sleeping with my mistress to my wife. I would love to hear the details about my wive's sex though.
samsungxoxo Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Yes they do esp. if you overly talk about another guy or if they found out you had imaginary thoughts on other guys. One time I was talking on a guy friend and how nice he was and that I cried for him once, then he was (Change the subject, lets not talk about it).
squeak Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I don't think men get riled the same way women do. Or they will use clever put downs that epitomize the other guys charachter/physical flaws. So many more women have so many more ways of being inappropriate (the innocent bending over so her breasts show, the pulled up skirt while sitting so legs show more, the infamous lip licking while talking, or the sitting too close while talking, hair flipping) then men so that may be a factor too. Can you imagine all of that in reverse: seeing a guy bending over so you see his butt crack, or sitting too close while conversing, or flipping his hair? Yeah...creepy. Women crave male validation and attention more than men do, so odds are that their behavior will be "hoier" by nature. Sad but true. I don't need to do that, and really dislike the women who do. I don't like indecent acting people who don't respect others. Unfortunately, our society has an "everything goes" policy that anyone with core values is odd man/woman out. But as to men not getting upset, maybe that is because they can't believe the girl would do that, she must be looking at something else and give benefit of the doubt-- but the women are sure the men would??
Trialbyfire Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 seeing a guy bending over so you see his butt crack, Ah yes, the infamous butt crack trick. All plumbers know how to use this to their best advantage. If I were a SAHM, I'm not certain I could resist...
squeak Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Haha yes especially if the butt crack man in question was wearing his new peek a boo thong! Sexay!
Trialbyfire Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Yahhhh!!!! Thong pull FTW!! I can make anyone a soprano!
Author Capricorn Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Plumbers crack!! Haha! Well a lot of men complain that women are crazy and too jealous but I'm sure men would feel more jealous and be threatened if they constantly had to see nude perfect looking men in movies on t.v and out in public!! I know soo many women that are sick of even just watching tv or movie with their man because everything you watch has naked women in it! Even women I know that could be models feel insecure about themselves cause every where you look theres some ho dressed like a hooker that you know guys are gonna stare at.
Author Capricorn Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 It was funny cause today my boyfriend and I were on our way home from work and some guy was along side our car riding a bike and the guy was singing and checking me out, I just looked away and didn't even stare. The guy had long black hair kinda goth looking which my man knows I find that look attractive. Well my man got sooo jealous and said he wanted to run the guy over!! I asked why and he said it would make him feel better! So I got my answer today guys do get jealous of other mens looks!!
Author Capricorn Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 No that only happens when men are alone in the locker room when no one is looking!
shadowofman Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 You should really make the distiction between jealous and possessiveness. Well a lot of men complain that women are crazy and too jealous but I'm sure men would feel more jealous and be threatened if they constantly had to see nude perfect looking men in movies on t.v and out in public!! Are you jealous of the women you see in movies, or are you possessive of your man, and not wanting him to pay attention to other women? Or both?
Author Capricorn Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 I'm not jealous of women in movies but I am sick of seeing naked skanks in basically every movie! There are many men that would probably get sick of seeing dick and balls in movies too!! I don't mind if my man talks to other women but I don't want him going home with someone else or hanging out alone with another woman. I know a lot of women that are the same as me! Also I know my man doesn't mind me talking to other guys but he wouldn't like me to flirt but he doesn't have to worry cause I'm not the flirty type.

See, the problem with threads like this is that this is both a female and male issue. Do you really believe that physically superior and "successful" men are not paraded in front of us on TV and the rest of the media? Don't soaps find every oppurtunity to have male stars shirtless. What about the Bachelor? They basically try and tell men that the rest of us are a piece of garbage. The problem is that when women love this, they seem to think it's completely different-it's not. Men have just as much pressure today as women. Or, for some reason, when men don't feel good about themselves, they are hit with the insecure label. For women, it's the media's fault, and they should be made to feel beautiful. There are many double standards. some in favor of men, and some in favor of women, and this one of them. To answer your question directly though, yes, men get jealous and the ones who say they don't are either lying, have inflated egos, or just don't care. I mean, when you know your girl is attracted to or is lustful for someone else, it's not fun. It doesn't mean it's her fault, but it just isn't fun. And, it doen't matter if they will act on anything. Just the thought of them desiring another man is disconcerting. Many guys here will not admit it, but there is at least a twinge of jealousy or an uneasy feeling when you know your girl is looking at a good looking guy-especially when you know that guy is better looking.
stillafool Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Now this is a healthy minded man..... Some men do but I don't concern myself with what others are doing. My life is good and that is my concern. My husband is extremely goodlooking but is jealous if I say anything nice about other men. I think really goodlooking men are like really goodlooking women - more insecure.

I definitely agree with this. There is a double standard and it isn't fair. I notice on talk shows when discussing porn. If a man watches porn he is a scumbag but when asked why the same view didn't apply to women watching porn the women replied "because women need extra stimulation." WTF!

I'm blessed that my husband doesn't play in to that sort of thing when women do that to him. He is very respectful.
Author Capricorn Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Pyroguy your right! See I don't watch much tv and forgot about soap operas. I used to always watch talk shows but they suck anymore so I lost interest in tv. Thank you for being honest though. It doesn't make me happy that men get jealous or insecure I really just wanted to know cause like you said men don't admit to jealous feelings!!!
