Okay I hope that this is the right topic section for this problem, but here it goes…

Background: I have been dating this girl for almost 2 months and we have been friends for about 6 or 7 months. We are both 16 and she is 21 days older than me and we share the same birth month. She is a junior in high school and I am a sophomore. She has been in several relationships before and this is pretty much my first real relationship.

Problem: I have met her father only once and it was for no longer than 2 minutes and he yelled at me for doing something that I didn’t do but said that I did so I could save my girlfriends butt (that lie could have been avoided if her parents would take her to get school supplies), and now for some reason her step mom and father both have come to the conclusion that I am a bad person. I have asked my girlfriend if meeting them would be a good idea so that they can see that I have nothing to hide, but she says that is probably not a good idea because they have already got their opinion on me over a two minute conversation that her step mom wasn’t even there for and it was about 1 month ago when it happened. I am not sure if they are totally basing how they feel about me on that small little 2 minute conversation or if they are just making up there own details about me because they haven’t really met me, but if they got to know me they would see that I am a great student in school, I have great parent support (my parents think my girlfriend is awesome too...), and I really care about how she is feeling and what is happening in her life and wouldn't even think of taking advantage of her. Her parents also gave her the good old "You Don't Need a Boyfriend" Speech a couple of weeks ago, and they want us to be friends. Her parents don't let her do anything and we barely get to spend any time together, but we are totally in love and don't want to end the relationship at all. She gets really stressed because of school, having no money for a lot of stuff, and no parental support; and I want to be there for her to help, but I can’t if her parents won’t let her do anything!

I don't know what to do...any advice would be greatly appreciated.
