shadowplay Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I'll keep this brief. I have a more practical relationship question... My bf lives in NY, and I live in Boston. We see each other every weekend (by bus -- 5 hr trip each way). He's visited me three times, I've visited him once. He visited the last two times. The main reason it's been so lopsided is because Boston is his hometown so he has family and friends here and I don't in NY...so he has a better reason for coming up. I'm a bit reluctant to visit him because he lives in a really dangerous part of the city and I'd have to stay with him in his tiny apartment (while he has his own place to stay when he visits me). Still, I feel bad that he's been doing most of the visiting. Today he told me he was thinking of coming up again this weekend to Boston. I said "You know, I can visit you too sometimes if it makes it easier." He said he has to pick up his car in Boston anyway, but he would leave it up to me whether I made the trip or he did. I said "I guess I'll come next time then." Was this a bad move? Should I have offered to come this weekend? It's not too late for me to offer, but honestly I'm not too keen on going for the reasons above. He mentioned that I'd have no "ulterior motive" for coming like visiting schools (I did that last time), so I'd just be coming to see "plain old" him. I told him that was "certainly a good incentive."
Author shadowplay Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Anyone? I'll be speaking to him again soon.
Star Gazer Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I think you should regurgitate what you've said above to HIM and then make a decision as a couple.
