dbtmarley Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Not sure if many here remember me, my wife and I are both HIV positive. We are now the parents to a beautiful, healthy little girl named Gia. She is definitely our little miracle and we are both beside ourselves with happiness.
Kasan Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Wonderful, wonderful news! I had wondered where you were and how you were doing.
Author dbtmarley Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 Wonderful, wonderful news! I had wondered where you were and how you were doing. Oh I just been cleaning bottles and changing diapers... Also doing the marathon sleep depravation thing but it's all good. Thanks!

Kasan Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 So what are the details? How big was she? Mom doing fine?
sb129 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 dbtmarley! I remember you well! That is absolutely wonderful news, congratulations! Good luck with the mayhem....
Author dbtmarley Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 She was born Sept. 12 and weighed in at 6lbs. 6 ounces. It was still unclear initially whether she would be negative or not, but we had a PCR (tests for virus) test done last week and she is negative. Moms doing great. She had a C-section which decreases the likelyhood of the virus being passed from mother to the baby. That has probably been the most worrisome part so far, but my wife has healed fine.... and damn I must say her body has bounced back better than ever! Not that it matters;)!

Author dbtmarley Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Thanks everyone.... You know, everyday I questioned whether if it was the right decision. I knew I wanted another child but I was afraid it would be a selfish want and I would bestow my condition on her. The what ifs were running across my mind daily. The end result has just been so over whelming to say the least. I tell you... She has made the dark days I went through two years ago SO SO worth it. Thanks again everyone for allowing me to share this with you with no judgement..
quankanne Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 okay, papa ... what were her stats? I just remember seeing her name in print (lovely name, BTW, sounds very Mediterranean) ...
