charliepapa Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Just need to make a comment. I had a disturbing time last night. Literally felt my flat mate have sex last night. We live in an old Queenslander with wobbley floor boards so I felt it wobbling till they stopped. It does not help that my sex and romance life is no existent and I dont know what to do about it. Of Course could not sleep.
scottydog Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 sorry, but this is the reason why i don't want a roommate. A. I don't want anyone else other than me and my girl in the apt if I'm having it B. I don't want to hear someone else in my apt having it.
Author charliepapa Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 Wish I could afford not to have one. And I want to buy my own place and need another person to cover part of the morgtage still.

lino Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 This would be bothersome in your situation. I don't think there's much you can do really. By the way, what is an old QLD'r? Never heard that term.

rocketpixie Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Unfortunately it doesn't sound like there is much you can do. It isn't a noise problem, so you can't quite ask them to change what isn't their fault. Does this happen often enough so you don't get sleep on a regular basis? Maybe you could look up a different type of living arrangement where the house isn't so... responsive to other's activities, or find a part of the house where the boards don't wobble?
uniqueone Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I know! Start making a bunch of racket and then play a tape of some goat sounds!
jcster Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I think this is a problem that's existed since time immemorial. Imagine how it was when everyone slept in the same room! I think you should talk to your flatmate and let them know that their private moments aren't so private. It's up to them to decide whether or not they want someone else privy to their shenanigans, but if they don't care, I don't know what else you can do.
TogetherForever Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Buy an airhorn & blow it when they start rattling the floors.
Author charliepapa Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 Fortunately this is the first time it has happened. It would not be such a problem if I had a sex life but am trying to work on that. Just have to return the favour. Mind you now I know what my previous house mates where going through with my previous girlfriend (a drought for 7 months) 6 or more times a week. The wobbly floor boards are the most disturbing because I can feel all there movements.
uniqueone Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 The wobbly floor boards are the most disturbing because I can feel all there movements. Then if I were you, I'd yell really loud: "Harder....harder....yeah...right there......OH YEAH!!!!..."
Author charliepapa Posted September 26, 2007 Author Posted September 26, 2007 Then if I were you, I'd yell really loud: "Harder....harder....yeah...right there......OH YEAH!!!!..." LOL - Last night they went for it again but I think I woke up at the end. I mean what else would they do when she sleeps over. I just want to bring a woman home and just tired of watching everyone else having fun.

MystifiedByMen Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Buy a porno and turn up the part where the woman yells really loud. Then tell your roommate the next day that you had the most amazing night!

Author charliepapa Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 I got to find a new place to live and a girlfriend (somehow) to reciprocate, they are obviously getting quite serious. The creaking bed, the wobbling floor boards when they got it into it and the occasional moan was just irritating. Oh well just got to concentrate on the reciprocation.
Timberlane Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Oh come on, mate! Be glad your roomy is getting some. I would be. My roommates in college and I never got bugged by that stuff. Your time will come to shake the floorboards as well. No use in acting all sullen. As to the bed, go see if it might benefit from some screw tightening. My futon frame really got a lot quieter after a makeover. It was so loud it annoyed both me and the woman.
