Reasonable wait?

Here's a question I never know the answer to...

When you call and leave someone, a friend or romantic interest, an impromptu message saying for instance, someone just handed me tickets for the ball game later, or any interest in catching that new crime thriller at 7?

What is a reasonable time to wait for a response? Should you even expect a response?

When it comes to this, you shouldn't leave a mesage like that because then you will feel like you have to wait on them to respond. Just call everyone who you feel like taking with you and the first responder gets first crack.

since this is dating I'm assuming your leaning towards romantic interest.:)

If it is later today I think that it should be as soon as they get the message but since its spur of the moment you should keep your options open.

I asked the question that way because I wanted to know for anyone, not just a romantic interest, or I wouldn't have wasted the words or time.

lol sorry! it was in the romantic section/dating section so i kinda assumed..... Yeah you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket so ask multiple people and whoever responds first gets it lol.

No worries. It's just one of those things I never have an answer to.

My pals and I move through life pretty fast so if I call and say, Hey it's Carrot, call me back, that's not going to get the same response as, Hey it's Carrot, let's go to the show later tonight. I think it's at 7. Let me know if you're in.

I was just wondering how long a wait is reasonable to wait in general. Like if I'm waiting someplace for someone I have plans with, I might wait fifteen minutes and then split to do something else if I don't hear from them.

So how long for a return call? :p

Well, that seems reasonable and I assume you have a cell so if they get the message after you've left they can still reach you.

If it WAS a case of " a concert tonite at 7" I would let them know I was going to keep calling other people as they might not check their messages right away, and as the others said, first one to answer or call back and say yea, gets to go.
