I'm new here and I need your opinions! My friend recently broke off his engagement with his girl. Well, she was pretty upset and brought over all his things to his house while he was gone and left them along with her ring and the key to his place the very next day. She has since wanted to rekindle the relationship and has asked for the ring back (which she didn't get)....you know, the normal back and forth stuff. Well, long story short, I say she probably had a spare key made before giving it back and still has a key to his place. He says no way, that women wouldn't do that. So I thought I would come on here for some opinions. I was just warning him before he starts dating again and has other women over.......any thoughts?

Thanks!

I would doubt she did that..

If she has a key that she made before giving his key back and enters his house she is breaking and entering and can be arrested.

I seriously doubt she did.. and even if she did then she would have to have the balls to break into his house and risk arrest..

Using the key( or stolen key as that is what it would really be ) would be criminal behavior.. not exgf behavior.

It only takes 15 mins to have the lock rekeyed.. if he is that worried about it have him take the knob off the door and take it up to a hardware store or lowes and have it rekeyed for $5.00.

You'd be surprised at what people do when they are "emotional."

Tell your friend to change his locks immediately.

Oh yea, change the locks ! In my case it was an ex wife. Ten months after the Divorce was final, and she was moving to another (far away) state with her OMM/BF I came home from work to find $10,000 in property, cash and valuables GONE !

No break in, no evidence. I was discovering missing items for three years. I wouldn't have even been sure if she hadn't taken the family Bible out of a box, in the attic, leaving everything thing else up there alone.

that is a very simple problem to solve... change the lock... simple!

I do that myself... takes a few minutes.

I rent my basement, so whenever a tenant leaves, I change the locks.. I don't take any chances.
